'The ECJ can overrule our HOL can they not?' they can in certain circumstances but that doesn't mean 'EU law out ranks UK law'. Did you mean HOC?

Did you appreciate that UK courts, other than the Supreme Court, will continue to be bound by EU laws and court decisions made before Brexit? This is an attempt to preserve continuity given that previous CJEU decisions have influenced many areas of English case law. Note the word 'influenced' not 'overruled.
