The BBC project Fear continues apace; what is the purpose of this non-story other than to cause fear and confusion?

Indeed a non-story. Whatever the terms of our departure there is no possibility of the ex-pats there suffering any form of disadvantage and they will remain there, spending their dosh in the one and only shop and buying their DIY from the local Homebase or whatever it is they have out there. Why they should have "concerns" is anybody's guess.

Actually the lady who is worried about health care is like many others living under the false impression that the French are paying for it, where in reality what happens is that the bills are sent to the NHS under a supposed reciprocal scheme, but because the NHS is famously free at the point of delivery, I suspect that little of the health care of the 140,000 French people in the UK is reclaimed.

i too watch the BBC news but with one eye open, their reporting is often mistimed, mismanaged and biased. They rarely let someone actually speak when the person is interviewed, and last evening Clive Maire said that the Bank of England warned of dire consequences of leaving the EU with No Deal, not true, they said that the worst case scenario...
