Farage is a VE hero and achieved the greatest political triumph of my lifetime in forcing the referendum on EU membership. The betrayal of the result is another matter. As for UKIP and its current leader Farage has gone mainstream stupid. Batten is right and Farage, like all politicians and many right thinking people such as julia Hartley-Brewer, is wrong...
IMO Farage is right, though I admire the stance Robinson has made (and I have defended him tirelessly on here), giving him an official position on the UKIP executive, though intellectually and morally right, was not a smart political move at this moment. If Tommy wanted to be a member and be helpful to the UKIP cause, he could pay his membership fee like everyone else and contribute. It is not possible to unravel his 'celebrity' status and all that goes with it.
didn't bother reading the article but I have time for Farage he talks a lot of sense, just cant get himself elected as an MP. As for feathering his own nest he is independently very wealthy from his previous career. anyone who wants to listen to him can find him on LBC each evening.
//didn't bother reading the article but I have time for Farage//
Lol... not enough time tho
I think he’s the human equivalent of Roland rat but I read it
Ukip have been on the rise since Batten took over. From less than 2% support in the polls to 6-8%. From bankruptcy to security.
Even an expert like Ichi declared they were 'dead and buried' 6 months ago.
While some (stupid)people will leave because of TR and Farage's petulance, I predict we're going to 'sky-rocket' now. We shall have to wait and see, won't we?
Spice, the problem still remains - as other have said above.
TR (and yes I agree with a lot of what he says) is toxic. This does not win you elections, just ask Hillary.
Sometimes you do just have to accept that perception is stronger than reality, particularly in these days of Fake News, TwitFace and the like.
It is the timing too that is the problem, with the strng possibility of an election no party should be rocking the boat (Take not Treason) especially a party that could mob up many of Traitor Mays Party.
From 2 to 8 per cent.
The sky is the limit: it just looks rather distant :-)
After Brexit they will need a new cause : if Brexit doesn’t happen their obsession with Islam will leave them chasing the wrong cause. That is why Nigel (who’s always been pretty liberal on ethnic minorities compared to many) is frustrated
Personally, ymb, I'd say Hillary was vaunted, Trump was toxic.
I'm hoping for the same effect.
And we've got some big hitters on social media.
Like I say, we'll see.
Ichi, ;-(. Think you'll find that not everyone is as enamoured with Islam as you obviously are.
