Love him or loath him, there are some undeniable truths in there.

“Sad indictment of the general non intelligence of the public”

Oops ....
see something familiar ich?
Question Author
Kval, thanks for taking the article in the spirit in which it’s intended.
for all mr boyle's opposition to Brexit and his gushing endorsement of mr Corbyn, he will be sadly disappointed if he believes his hero is going to ride to the rescue..

Mush, I don’t think Frankie is endorsing Corbyn when he says
‘Corbyn has mastered a lot of things, but strangely not saying *** just to get elected. Mate, say some *** just to get elected: it’s really your only job right now. This needs to go to the top of your to-do list, not somewhere down below “fix the spare room door”.
He seems to be pointing out the failings of him being able to grasp the most basic requirements of his post.
I thought the ending was surprisingly poignant.

I doubt our resident remedial class / instant judgement from a headline members got that far.
TTT, you wrote of the"general non intelligence of the public" and then went on to say the article was a rant about all Brexiteers being stupid.

The public you believe lack intelligence are among those who voted for Brexit, so why is it wrong to say Brexiteers are stupid?

….but in mentioning "death of the planet" and "saving the earth", Mr Boyle has overstated his argument. the changes occurring now to which humanity is probably contributing won't destroy the planet. if humanity self destructs, the planet will persist, and is quite capable of looking after itself - it has existed for billions of years and has endured worse crises than us. after we're gone the planet will quietly get on with it, and life will endure. it might take millions of years to recover but that is but a blink in the general timeline.

I think what Mr Boyle - and others who fall into the same trap - means is that it's our human lifestyle that needs saving. we are probably beyond that already though, given the unsustainable number of humans on earth today......
It is not a rant. It's his take on some of the ludicrous things that have happened this year.
"Our government was angry about Khashoggi and sent the Saudis a strongly worded arms invoice." Love him to bits :-)
Thank you Zacs for drawing my attention to this article. I think anyone who managed to read past the headline would find it of interest. May I say that perhaps too many people only seek reinforcement of their views, rather than enlightenment. An amazing article, well written and well argued. And for those revelling in the all too usual ad hominem attacks, was not Boyle the producer of the 2012 London Olympic spectacular?
A different Boyle, Mutin?
Muntin, ^. Sorry.
The Olympics was Danny Boyle.
?
Frankie's alright, except when he over-fawns doing his get-together with Ms Pascoe and other pinko non-carnivores on New World Order.

He seems to be trying to atone.
Sorry, got my Boyles mixed up, and thank you to all those who took the trouble to point out my mistake.
But was there not yet another Boyle, the one who pointed out that hot air took up a larger space than cooler air? Perhaps a possible for patron saint of A B.
