During an interview broadcast on Thursday’s edition of the Fox News Channel’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Vice President Mike Pence declared that “We will have no deal without a wall.”
Pence said, "The president’s made it clear, we’re here to make a deal. But it’s a deal that’s going to result in achieving real gains on border security, and you have no border security without the wall. We will have no deal without a wall. The president’s made it very clear, no wall, no deal.”
'I often stated, “One way or the other, Mexico is going to pay for the Wall.” This has never changed. Our new deal with Mexico (and Canada), the USMCA, is so much better than the old, very costly & anti-USA NAFTA deal, that just by the money we save, MEXICO IS PAYING FOR THE WALL!'
Why does nobody on the left understand that, or do they not want to know and admit it ?
The electoral college vote was on ntroduced at the start to stop large constituencies from forever gaining power. It specifically stops places such as NYC, California and Illinois from taking over the country. It does actually (apparently) give the people the final say rather than large groups of people from one area dominating politics. Apparently (again lol) the founding fathers sort of realised that a few larger states could undermine democracy. Which t what the democrates are now proposing to do but changing the electoral role role.
Actually I’ve been reading a few US posts about this and there have been a few funny posts.
One was that Trump said the Obamas have a wall round their Manson for security which is only right and proper. He just wants to build a slightly bigger one for the country. I just thought that ‘slightly bigger’ was very funny.
And republicans are saying if you don’t want a wall or security on the border. Take off your front doors and gates and see how well not hav8 g basic security works for you.
The Democrats have everything to win, and Trump has everything to lose.
The shut down will affect a lot of people including a lot of Trump voters.
So Trump is obviously going to lose. The question is,how badly.
no because it is not a business deal ( at which he is good) it is a political negotiation (which he had never done) and I think the Nants ( nancy Pelosi that is!) will rung rings around him
he has delegated to a negotiating committee
his son in law of course and Mike Pence
and they presumably will negiotitate a deal of some sort
The two houses are there to control the powers of the president so trying to do it without ( invoking emergency powers ) will perhaps not be the way forward....
seems a bit seventeenth century - an absolute monarch trying to raise money without the consent of parliament
Douglas; //He should be investing in attack dragons, that'll keep them out.//
As in my link above, the wall isn't going to stop anybody doing anything but enter the U.S. by the official ports of entry. It's not to keep people out but to make them come in by the official method. In other words, nobody who has a right of access will be excluded.
