Which, it shouldn't need saying, completely undermines the point of representative democracy. We elect MPs to represent our best interests, not to blindly follow orders and instructions without exercising their judgement.

What should qualify them is that it's their day job to deal with and examine these issues in greater detail than we do ourselves. This is, perhaps, too idealised a model, but what point is there in a Parliament at all if there is not at least *some* trust that, most of the time at least, the combined scrutiny of the Commons, Lords, and various of their advisers makes for informed decisions?
Ah here we go again. So when Parliament over rides something you (and a majority) agree with I will remind you of this.
The problem is that MP's lie (all parties) to get elected, therefore your argument does not stack up.
In addition the vast majority of politicians have never had a day job (heard that anywhere before?) so are hardly likely to be able to make a good call. Instead most make decisions to best favour either thei own career or bank balance.

There is only a problem because some MPs are trying to stop Brexit.
If they were honest and stood in a row and shouted, we want to stop Brexit because we believe you got it wrong they would be shouted down and it would show them for what they are. Not representative of the country.
But hay, lets just blame the PM and Tories for this mess when in fact it is a cross party attempt to undermine democracy.
