Donald Trump's Wall
He said at the White House on Thursday before leaving for a tour of the border in Texas.
'They could solve this problem in literally 15 minutes. We could be back. We could have border security. They could stop this problem in 15 minutes if they wanted to. I really believe now that they don’t want to. I really believe that. I really believe that they don’t care about crime. I really believe this. The Democrats don’t care about crime.
They’ve been taken over by a group of young people who, frankly, in some cases — I’ve been watching — I actually think they’re crazy. But they’ve been taken over by a group that is so far left. I really don’t think they care about crime. And, you know, sadly, they’re viewing this as the beginning of the 2020 presidential race, and that’s okay with me. But they have been taken over by a group of people that don’t care about gangs. They don’t care about human trafficking and drugs. They don’t care about anything. I’ll tell you what — they have gone crazy.'
Legal experts say the president has the authority to declare an emergency and invoke a federal statute called the National Emergencies Act that President Gerald Ford signed into law on Sept. 14, 1976.
He ran for presidential candidacy with this as part of his policy and was voted in, is he right to dig in his heels and declare a national emergency?

It's stuff and nonsense to suggest that objecting to building a border wall is implicitly supporting or encouraging illegal immigration. And, in point of fact, even v-e recognised this.
You're confusing ends and means, Khandro.

The entire impeachment discussion seems fairly pointless. Even supposing Trump *had* demonstrably done anything impeachment-worthy, it seems highly unlikely that the Senate (controlled by Republicans) would agree. There are better ways for the Democrats in the lower House to spend their time.
Meanwhile, Trump has decided (for the time being at least) not to declare a National Emergency, thus surprising exactly no-one.

How about Trump's ability to use his political position to promote the interests of "Trump"-branded businesses, and ongoing payments by foreign entities to businesses within the Trump business empire?
Or the ‘Emoluments Clause’ / complicity with Russian interference in the 2016 United States presidential election?

I don't think so, what "means" do you have to offer?
Did you ever see Breaking Bad in which the violent drug cartel terrible twins, leave their Mercedes with a poor Mexican family in exchange for some working clothes off their line, and simply walk in to New Mexico, USA? Fiction, based in fact - I know, I've seen it.

I'd already suggested something earlier in this thread, with the idea of employing more Border Patrol staff. Hardly an outrageous suggestion, and while in isolation it wouldn't be enough I again want to point out that the situation at the Mexico border has been improve dramatically since the 2000-ish peak.
There is simply no sense in describing Trump's wall as the only viable solution. Less extreme measures taken -- yes, including fencing -- have been effective enough.
