After 15 years in front of you this worthless piece of murdering scum and his like would be begging for a length of rope in his cell. Now that slammer IS a deterrent worth considering. Everyone is now happy.

I think you misunderstood retrocop.
I meant that if someone does time in one of these ‘hell hole’ type places, they may be less likely to reoffend than someone who has done time in a ‘regular’ prison. Many of whom seem to see it as a second home with lots of mates.
I also think the full sentence should be served.

An interesting comment made by one of the residents of this facility:
"Notorious escape artist Richard Lee McNair wrote to a journalist from his cell in 2009 to say "Thank God for prisons [...] There are some very sick people in here... Animals you would never want living near your family or the public in general. I don't know how corrections staff deal with it. They get spit on, *** on, abused and I have seen them risk their own lives and save a prisoner many times."[21]"

// Calm down gentlemen, I was only making an observation, you do seem really over-keen on how horrible it is, and it strikes people as peculiar. //
It's because we don't like horrible violent criminals. The kind of people that end up in places like this have generally committed despicable acts. I mean truly despicable. They deserve no sympathy whatsoever.

After reading about this place I have to admit it seems a little harsh; however, the men in there have committed some pretty harsh atrocities...So be it. Scroll down to read about some of the charmers they have ensconced in that prison: https:/ /en.wik ipedia. org/wik i/ADX_F lorence
I don't like violent criminals either Ludwig, not one little bit, but what I have a problem with is people pretending that they're all over this because it's 'secure' a 'deterrent' blah blah bah, when clearly actually they're really all over it because it's cruel and it appeals to their sense of vengeance.
Stick them in an inescapable prison, you won't find me moaning about that, let them stay there til they die, I won't moan about that either, they deserve it, but the state sponsored psychological torture of people you will find me calling out, along with those who get 'excited' about it, hence my post.
