according to some of its leading lights it is - yet deselection of those not considered left-leaning is again in the news:-

would labour be more likely to win an election in "broad church" mode, or as a totally up-front left leaning party?

now this seven have nailed their colours to the mast, how many of them - if they really had the courage of their convictions - would retain their seats if they were to precipitate by-elections?
From what Chuka Umunna is saying it sounds to me that they won’t be the last and they won’t all be Labour
Who are the divs on the hot mic?
People from all parties call for deselection of people within thier party for not agreeing or not supporting one thing or another that’s true.

But I think you’ll find Labour are worse because they hide behind Momentum who are actively placing themselves to do the dirty work.
Yay. When will they hold the by elections?
'Chuka Umunna, Luciana Berger, Chris Leslie, Angela Smith, Mike Gapes, Gavin Shuker, Anne Coffey have all resigned from the Labour Party.

A few minutes ago the Labour split which has been somehow imminent for a very long time, finally happened. Under the banner of ‘The Independent Group’, the MPs spoke at a packed press conference at County Hall over the river from parliament.

Berger said Labour had been consumed by a culture of “bullying, bigotry and intimidation”. Leslie hit out at Corbyn's Brexit position and said the party had now been "hijacked by the machine politics of the hard left". Gapes said Corbyn would “threaten our security” were he ever to become prime minister.'
^There have certainly been some scathing comments about Corbyn & Co. Crikey!
Not sure you can call this a split. It is more of a splinter.
248 Labour MPs remain, and IG is just 7.
