Footnote for cruciverbalists: NatWest is an anagram of Ant Stew ;-)

"He felt "vegans were forcing their beliefs on to him", she added." He aint wrong. Imagine someone going around and trying to force you to believe in their god... Oh wait...

I imagine it went something like:-
'What would you like the loan for?'
and she being enthused about her career development said something like
'It's for a course on nutrician, I'm a Vegan so very interested in how food shapes our health so thought this would be a good way of enhancing y career'.
'All Vegans should be punched in the face' yadayadayada.
Also.. compensation of just under £200 and natwest offered to pay for the course.. Seems she was catered for and i can tell you for a fact, if she was not a vegan, this would never of happened.
"Not sure why it's being suggested she shouldn't have been open about what the loan was towards. "

It is becuase vegans feel the need to tell everyone what they are and generally ram it down everyone's throat with their supeior attitude.

There was absolutely no need to mention what you your beliefs are, unless you are expecting preferential treatment. Which it seems she got in the end.
Why write something you 'imagine' Calico?

and if this woman wasn't a vegan she would ave never got the compo and the course paid for (not just a loan) so the fact she was a vegan did get catered for.
Spath if she had said she wanted the loan for a butchery course and then got a mouthful of abuse by a veggie or vegan - I am sure she would have been treated the same way.
" What is the course about and what will it lead you to be able to do in the future?"

"Ah, erm, well I could tell you, but you might not like it"

Click............
Still not seen anyone answer the question "Why the need to mention you are a vegan" ?

Plenty skirting the question though.
I 'imagine' that because it's the kind of trite rollocks that banks want to know- who you are, why you want the money, how that will assist you, what it's for and why.
The answers to those questions very probably led her to state matter of factly that she was Vegan, and of course she wasn't expecting special treatment Spath, banks hate everyone who want to borrow money equally.
We would need to hear the call and the questions she was asked and how she replied.
"banks hate everyone who want to borrow money equally."

No they dont, they only hate those they think wont repay it.

" it's the kind of trite rollocks that banks want to know- who you are, why you want the money, how that will assist you, what it's for and why. "

Its the kind of trite rollocks they are now obliged to ask as part of the affordability calculator and due diligence.
Yes and that is obviously how the remark came about- it's not rocket science.
You are asking a hypothetical question and when someone proffers a possible explanation you are saying ' why imagine that?'

Well because none of us were there to know, obviously, but it's pretty much common sense that that is likely.

Exactly mamya as I said earlier we would need to see the call transcript.
But in the meantime we can just let the believers continue in their fight for justice!
If you listen to Radio Bristol, she said she wanted the load for a vegan nutrician course. Hence, she mentioned the word 'vegan'
*loan*
"Spath if she had said she wanted the loan for a butchery course and then got a mouthful of abuse by a veggie or vegan - I am sure she would have been treated the same way."

well you'd hope so
But you have no evidence either way do you Spath, and your assumption that she was ramming her veganism down his throat and that she got her loan because she was a vegan makes you as bad as the person who started all this!
ymb, Mamyalynne answered your question at 13.00. Do you think banks lend money without asking why it's wanted?

Anyway, if you tell me you're a vegan, a lesbian or 38 years old I have no problem at all. If you tell me I deserve to be punched, I have a problem. Why do you think statements of fact should be answered with threats of violence?
Making this experience public, you've got to give her credit...
RR you need to calm down lol

" she got her loan because she was a vegan makes you as bad as the person who started all this!"

She did, if you think otherwise then you are (in my opinion) deluded by your desire to argue.

How can she be offended and get compensation, if she isn't a vegan? She was only offended and got compo because she is, there for, she got catered for, for begin a vegan.

No more evidence needed than the fact she got just shy of £200 and a paid for course by a bank, because they offended her, because she is a vegan.
