You couldn't make it up, not only wasn't this potential terrorist charged but another one was allowed to continue on her journey, to join ISIS.

It seems it is now more of a crime to belong to a banned right-wing group than it is to join a banned terrorist group.

What is the gamble that if this latest bit of garbage (Shemima Begumis) is allowed back into our country, she will get off lighter than our friend Tommy Robinson ever has.

The remit of the UN document linked to in the Gromit post is (a) to prevent recruitment of "children" to bad guys'movements, (b) to protect the rights and to guarantee fair judicial treatment of such captured or returning recruits, and (c) to rehabilitate them.

In as far as it addresses the first part of its remit its "experts" (try finding them on Google) deliberately impede effective action by denying any specific connections, common causes or obvious similarities between the recruits and the causes to which they're conscripted and conveys the veiled threat that any such attempts could amount to an illegal attack on minority groups. This despite the fact that the evocatively named "Vienna Network" ("O, Vienne, que de crimes on commet en ta nom" - and apologies to Wien if I've mis-gendered you) had recommended an "holistic" approach to prevention involving "cross-disciplinary" teams and intelligent data sharing.

Not at all, Tinkerbell. Going into the "House of War" (any country which isn't ruled by Islamic law) in order to promote Islam is an act of piety.


Emigrating in Allah's cause is ther foundational principle of Islam. The Islamic calendar starts in 623AD when Mohammed left Mecca to live in Medina and manipulate his way to power there. (Which he did very successfully at some cost to thein terms of life, liberty and property to the three Jewish tribes living in Median at the time.)

In my day as a school kid it was called by its Latinised name the "Hegira". Nowadays it's call by its Arabic name "hijrah".
