Poor chap just wants to see his wife. I understand he's been removed for being "too loud and disruptive" (apparently) but surely this protest should result to them coming to some kind of agreement? Won't look good on the care home if it gets much more publicity.

Two sides to every story.

Yep, seems the care home needs more eyes, and ears.
It certainly appears they are working to get a good resolution to this situation.

I think anything that pushes an 89 year old to sit outside a car home in a wheelchair protesting, he must have just had enough and wants a voice bless him
I know someone whose parents went into a care home together, he was soon banned from entering the place. It didn't stop there but his wife was also banned as was their son and her son (separate) also. Her mother and sister were also banned. My wife and I were not allowed to visit the old couple - everyone banned was banned because of their connections to the couple's son. He finally got to see his father in the latter's last days after he was transferred to hospital to die. His mother was ultimately transferred to another home where she was allowed visits from all of us.

The fellow, who is not the easiest of persons to get on with (he questioned the home's doctor's conduct when he prescribed the tranquillisers for the parents) mounted a campaign to get access, including a court case against the home and his siblings who were said to be behind the ban. An out of court settlement was reached (which let the home off the hook) and the mother moved out.

All of this completely disgusted me (and others), and I resolved never to go into a home in the UK.

That is shocking Karl

I hate the thought of potentially being in a home, but if it has to be done then unfortunately it has to be done
Always dignitas Spath. It's where I am going a mate of mine lives just down the road.

As for this story, I suspect there is more to it than is reported.

As in, going when the time for care has come?

It's implied in the article if you live close by to the care home there aren't many other options
Man visits wife.
Stranger starts shouting and being disruptive.
Man does not like this so starts shouting and being disruptive.
Staff ask both to calm down.
Stranger seems to calm down.
Man continues shouting and being disruptive.
Manager asks him to calm down or leave.
Man leaves but gets the hump, invents fictitious ban.
Best care home for miles around, by CQC standards, is stuck with idiot who prefers publicity to calm visits to wife.

What am I getting wrong?
While I have no knowledge of any rating (which presumably exists), the home in my story has a reputation for being "good", perhaps "among the best". How bad are the "bad" or "worst of the lot" ?
