Well.. we all know artists aint perfect don't we.. So surely boycotting playing music by one of them because of their actions is a slippery slope. When does it stop? So many criminal rappers and some convicted murders, but there music is OK?

I hate double standards and this is a fat one.

Some music even promotes violence and it's still allowed.

I agree. I have always argued in favour of the concept of seperating the artist from the art. If you start judging artistic output by the behavour of the artist, as you say, where does it stop? Once you have condemned all the abusers, do you turn to the tax frauds, the motorway speeders, the non-charity donors? The best way to avoid such a slippery slope is not to...

I, for one, won't be listening to any of his music. It makes me cringe and I was a massive MJ fan in my teens. I've even seen him in concert.

Then please, offend and insult me rather than help me see my wrong doings. That's how to educate the world.

Can you see the subtle difference?
Blox! Him and his stupid music should be binned!
We can live without him.
Spath you’re ignorance is doing you no favours.
Slippery sloap combines a slippery slope with soap, so it is surely one of the most slipperous of all slopes.

Jackson was never found guilty of child abuse and unfortunately his guilt or otherwise can't be tested after his death. Therefire conclusions of his guilt can only be based on hearsay. When the alleged victim stands to make a lot of money out of being seen as a victim, the waters are especially muddy.

A commercial radio station is free to make a choice to play him or not - listeners will beat it either way.

Then we hit the OFF button and if kids and grandkids ask, you tell them he was scum.
Theland - // Then we hit the OFF button and if kids and grandkids ask, you tell them he was scum. //

Shall we do that with Wagner then?

Same logic according to you.
You Wag if you want to, count me out.
Do you feel obliged to musical scum? Carry on. Enjoy!
Good point at 17:47 Theland ..
^ Whenever I see posts like that, it reminds me of this scene in Trading Places ...

(Sorry if it wasn't the scene you were hoping for, gentlemen ...)
I bought a newspaper as I wanted to know what the man in the mirror thought...
Do you disagree with Kevin Spacey being replaced in one of his films and his series being cancelled?
I do, RR. At the time it was an accusation, nothing concrete, no conviction. I know you could say the same about Jackson, but I think it was all a bit hasty in Spacey’s case.
Ellipsis: "Jackson was never found guilty of child abuse and unfortunately his guilt or otherwise can't be tested after his death. Therefire conclusions of his guilt can only be based on hearsay. When the alleged victim stands to make a lot of money out of being seen as a victim, the waters are especially muddy."

Point taken, but allegations can be tested without the accused being present, or without them choosing to give evidence. I am sure there will be legally trained people here able to confirm whether or not that is possible? The London speedboat accused wasn't present but was still found guilty.

I suspect that few people are tried after they have died because it is not in the public interest, rather than because it is not possible.
Not a bad idea, ag, on reflection.
