/// Are you simply unable to make your point without resorting to such offensive language, ///
Oh for goodness sake, what 'offensive language' is that? //
Referring to black men as 'boys' is offensive, that's just the way it is, I don't make the cultural rules, but I am aware of them.
And no it's not a 'hard and fast' rule, so please let's not get side-tracked again down that alley - it is an offensive term, and I am sure retrocop is aware of it as such, even if you are not.

Ludwig - // / It's not a punishment - punishing someone for a crime is designed to stop them repeating the crime //
So it (hanging) does qualify as a punishment then. The most effective one possible. //
I disagree, because I regard 'punishment' by definition, as something that should inspire the recipient not to repeat the action - somewhat academic if the 'punishment' is execution.
// Why don't you classify being locked up in prison as revenge? //
// Because that actually is a punishment! //
// Not a very good answer. Tantamount to saying 'because I just don't!'. //
I don't agree - as I said earlier in this post, a punishment is deigned to stop the offender re-offending, so prison is a punishment, because it gives the offender a chance to learn from their punishment.
// The fact is they're both punishments. You just choose to characterise one as 'revenge' because you don't agree with it. //
You won't be surprised that I disagree again, for the reasons I have outlined.
Punishing someone using a method that prevents them from learning from their experience is not punishment.
My description of it as 'revenge' does not enter into that particular argument.

retrocop - // There is nothing offensive about my post. //
To paraphrase a famous lady in a famous court case - you would say that wouldn't you - but just because you don't think your remark is offensive doesn't automatically disqualify it from being so.
// Unlike you I face the facts in front me and write of what I know to be true of what I see in London. //
Maybe, but you can write about it without using offensive epithets - they are not a pre-requisite of your position.
// I do not come on this site spouting like a pseudo criminal psychologist. //
Neither do I!
// You might use the letters 'imo' more often because expecting ABers to hang on to your every word does not fly and some of us recognise what you say for what it really is. //
Dear dear Retrocop, I have said this before, but you still carry on - you really must learn to read what I actually post, rather than what you would like me to have posted, so you can have another pointless pop at me for it.
I have never posted 'imo' ever, nor would I - please don't make things up to bolster your personal animosity, it's not the way mature debates are conducted.

I think that you are missing retrocop's point, what he is actually saying is that perhaps 'You Should' use the letters IMO, then we could all take it that what you state is only 'in your opinion' and not fact.
Referring to Black men as 'Boys' as knowingly to be offensive, where did you get that one from?
Most of these stabbings are carried out not by men but boys.
