No alternative model attracted a majority.

The House was agreed, however, that there'll be no fireworks and festivity on the 29th and reiterates its determination that under no circumstances will it allow a "No Deal" Brexit

If over half the people in a room want a switch turned off and the rest want it left on then there is no resolution whereby the split can be reflected. Although I'm sure the minority will suggest leaving it on but painting it so it looks off. Or claiming it's off but welding it open. Or maybe removing the cover but leaving it operating. Perhaps taking another vote,...

ah well only 2 weeks to wait anyway.
Wouldn't bet on that either!

so, humour me jim, May's deal won't pass, even if the HOC agree ion another deal, the EU won't. So they'll have to leave with no deal or cancel A50. Can you see any other path?
I'd love to be able to answer that. At the moment, no, there isn't another path I can see, beyond agreeing a long extension to start all over again.
so it's been announced that MPs will vote again on Brexit on Friday, but no-one - not even the leader of the house - knows whether it will be another "meaningful vote" on the PM's withdrawal deal.

the house doesn't normally sit on Fridays, so whether there will even be a parliamentary session tomorrow - never mind its content - still hasn't been decided as it will need to be debated and voted on.

jeeeeeezzzz…..
jim the EU have given us all the extension they are going to.
Speculation now is the govt will try to get a vote just on the withdrawal part of the agreement and not on the “political declaration” but which lays out plans for the future relationship.
I can only imagine that that is a technicality to get round the Speaker’s stipulations.
It has to be passed by 11pm tomorrow apparently, but not because we’d actually leave otherwise.
You may be right, Tora, but I'm not sure that fits properly with the spirit of the latest EU Council meeting. Essentially it was an extension to give the UK time to agree the Withdrawal Agreement, or to come up with a new idea. I'd imagine that if the UK comes up with an idea that is sufficiently "new" -- such as, for example, making the WA conditional on a referendum -- then the EU will extend again to provide the time for it.

I might be wrong, of course, but as long as the leaders on both sides want to avoid a No Deal exit then they'll find some other way out.
If parliament decides on “something” - within reason - I’m sure the EU will consider it.
if the deal is agreed they extend to May 22, if not April 12th. Unless there is a sea change in the house we are out on 12th. No time to negotiate what ever deal the HOC can cobble together, even if the EU were willing. I suspect we will be swindled out of brexit by the withdrawal of A50 because they haven't got the bottle to drop out with no deal.
It takes just as much bottle to revoke Article 50 without first consulting the people on that matter. The present reason for the impasse is because MPs don't want to thwart Brexit -- or at least not so starkly as that.
They have another get out fro their responsibility- referendum.
bunch of squealing popinjays trying to get their own way at the expense of the nation. no wonder people are talking about not voting.
I think you're right, Tora.
by the 12th Danny? right oh!
that was to your 15.14 post.
you sure ZM? PMSL!
Well, to your 15.22 one as well, I suppose. ;-)
TTT //by the 12th Danny? right oh!//
Barnier stated that one reason for an extension was if wanted to hold another referendum.
