I'd have thought they all got into politics to change things, to at least have a chance of implementing their ideas. So why are they so willing to be subservient to a corrupt unelected foreign entity?

Two words TTT

Snout & Trough.
They rate the economy higher than sovereignty to such an extent that they are willing to sacrifice control of one's own nation in order to avoid a short setback to the economy. Lord only knows why they think that way. Maybe they think a period of less than economic boom will lose them more votes next GE than betraying the referendum and keeping their nation under EU elite control will.
Because they are a bunch of twins with no idea how to run a country.

gawd elp us cassa, you'll wake up the jelly man with that one!
Presumably because they don't see it as vassalage.
I can't really put it any better than Krom. Except to add that, once again, you are critical of the very people you wish to hand power to. But we all know you've no real answer to that one, not even from your mates down the Dog & Duck taproom. Gertcha!
Zacs, //you are critical of the very people you wish to hand power to. But we all know you've no real answer to that one//

We do - and you've been told many times. My sympathy for your hearing problems.
Erm, it's the written word,N. No need for audio.

Answer me this.....
Do you seriously believe there are a bunch of altruistic, non self-serving people waiting to be come MPs? (I've never had an answer to this).

I knew you wouldn't let me down ZM!
Zacs, //Do you seriously believe there are a bunch of altruistic, non self-serving people waiting to be come MPs? (I've never had an answer to this). //

No, I don't - but whoever they may be they can be replaced. Now you have your answer.
The traitors are going at the next election. Not an option if you losers win.
To answer the OP, It frees up time for important stuff like transgender bathrooms and filling in expense claims. (which, incidentally, are much higher than during the expenses scandal)
// whoever they may be they can be replaced //

Run an election in those MPs seats under the same rules, and you get exactly the same result. Most constituency elections are not a contest at all, they are a fraud. Between Labour and the Conservative the Constituencies have been gerrymandered to return a Labour or Conservative candidate, to such an extent, that Parliament is very unrepresentative of what people want.
There is talk of another General Election, but that would be pointless. The system is so corrupt, the same self serving useless imbeciles who are ruining the country today, would just get re-elected again.
'but whoever they may be they can be replaced' with whom? That just gets us back to my original question and proves you're delusional about the circumstances we find ourselves in, to wit, replacing one bunch of incompetents with another (potentially worse) bunch.

Tora, when questions become a little too difficult for you, it might be best to bow out gracefully rather than reinforce your ignorance with the 'jelly and nails' comment which has no substance (even if you add more Pectin) and comments such as your one at 09:42.
Zacs, That our MPs can be replaced isn't delusional. They can be replaced.
With What, N? We seem to be going round in circles. You've already admitted that you don't believe there are any better people waiting in the wings. How has Brexit (or how will Brexit) improved the quality of those who run our affairs?
Zacs, yes, you are going around in circles. You've had the reply you asked for.
No I haven't. We seem to be in familiar 'Naomi' territory. Would you please answer my 10:03 point, please?
Question Author
Naomi, don't bother ZM has been told a 1000 times already.
Question Author
"How has Brexit (or how will Brexit) improved the quality of those who run our affairs? " - who said it has?
Naomi,
Perhaps you could explain how London voters in East Ham, can remove their MP, Stephen Timms*? Mr Timms voted last night for Common Market 2.0, for a Customs Union, which goes against the result of the EU Referendum. Tell me again how easy it is to remove him.

* Stephen Timms received the most votes of any MP in the country with 35,471 and largest majority 27,826 of any MP.
