How so? Forcing a kid to wear uniform, or any other western clothes, or even a baptism gown is accepted? Abuse?? Really? Clothing ur child?
The school not the parent dictates a uniform.
People should wear western clothes in the UK because the UK is in "The West", spathi. But that doesn't bother me too much. However, people roaming the streets with their faces masked up for no practical reason does. I find it offensive. I find it particularly offensive when women do so on the pretext that men cannot control themselves if they should catch a glimpse of female flesh.
should we ban burkas?

why - - - - are they hiding bombs behind them?

It is a bit like banning dog collars - I mean why?
Because we gain a lot of info from peoples facial expressions.
//why - - - - are they hiding bombs behind them?//

We'd never know, would we. But at least one miscreant has evaded surveillance by being dressed in Islamic garb of some sort (I'm really not interested in the various terms):

Anyway, I've said why I'm offended by people roaming around masked up.
Will banning facial coverings stop criminals covering their faces?

I suspect not.
//Will banning facial coverings stop criminals covering their faces?//

No it certainly won't. But it will stop women causing offence to me for the reason I outlined above.
At least you take the time to speak to each woman individually before you decide to take offence. That should be applauded.

Why should something be banned because it offends you? How egotistical.
No. I don't think so. It's just fashion. It's what people want to do, like wearing a scarf, or a hat. It doesn't mean anything else though. So don't make out that it does.
^ I'm aghast, agog and amazed^.
Is that all, Doug?
and astonished
... and astounded.

Reminds me of words from an old song:
"He's a fool and don't I know it...Bewitched, bothered and bewildered am I."
