I think it comes down to the fact that society considers men more sexually aggressive. Which, isn't actually the case. A lot of men are quite prude because society will instantly label them as a pervert or rapist.

If the tables were turned, i do think the man would be put in prison, simply because in society, men are considered more responsible when it comes to who they sleep with, rather than women. That's just my opinion, it may be wrong.

As Spath says, a mixed jury who must have had good reason to find a not guilty verdict.

These matters are always judged case by case. This man was cleared of similar after he pleaded guilty to sex with a 12 year old girl

AOG may have a point here. I wonder if even modern thinking adults might be secretly harbouring thoughts along the lines of "gaan, my son! get it in there" at a teenage boy sowing his oats with a grown woman. I wonder how strong the reactions would be in comparison if the adult was a man.

It has nothing to do with different laws for men and women. There was an allegation of sexual activity involving a minor initiated by an adult. It was tried on that basis. No gender bias.

It seems to be a modern snowflake trend to look for things to feign outrage about, rather than actually getting angry at genuine injustice.

No. I went school with some chaps, in year 9 they had beards.

The Indian chaps who were at school had beards and back hair. They could have easily passed for 25 whilst the rest of us looked like prepubescents
