It's not the misspelling that I'm talking about - it's the correlation of political correctness and the result of the Kentucky Derby.

IMO he simply means we are living in a mad world (yes I know he contributes to that) and bonkers decisions like this one would not have happened 10 years ago.

Still, at least he has won the snooker and has been humble enough not to tweet about it.
Old_Geezer - // One typo and you look an idiot … //

In terms of things that make Donald Trump look like an idiot, a typo is way down the list!!!
What nonsense this thread is.

It's not easy (or advisable!) to try and guess what Donald Trump is talking about most, if not all of the time - but if I understand him correctly, he appears to be suggesting that the rules that disqualified the winning horse may not have been in place years ago, and under those rules, the horse would have been declared the winner. Under modern rules, the horse was disqualified, and the second horse was given the win.

Where President Trump's point falls down, is that the rule change is not in any way shape or form connected to the concept of 'political correctness' - he merely makes a connection with rules then, as opposed to rules now, and plucks a notion out of the air to back it up.

As to whether or not 'the best horse' won on the day, that is entirely a matter of opinion, not fact - many would argue that the horse that wins is the best horse on the day.

So, not for the first, or sadly the last time, President Trump has set his muddled social media account in operation before his muddled mind is in gear, and made himself look life an idiot - again!
Naomi - // What nonsense this thread is. //

Can we assume with confidence that this will be your first, and lost contribution to it then?
Definitely not 'lost', AH. My contribution is there. (Tut! Typos happen to the best - and the worst - of us). ;o)

He's not the only one ...

Actually if you read just what happened in this race and the way the stewards handled the conclusion that they came to it shows that the way it was handled was not quite correct. It is too complicated for me to understand properly but from what I gather the stewards didn't follow the proper procedure . So maybe Donald Trump was right after all.
//So maybe Donald Trump was right after all. //

Crikey! I do hope not. Some here will go into an apoplectic fit!

Don't worry, as soon as you read Andres referring to something being 'complicated', you are safe in the knowledge that President Trump won't understand why he is right, even if this is one of the rare occasions where he actually is!
Hang-on! ^^^I said that I found it complicated not D.Trump and the hundreds of disgruntled punters who also thought the stewards had not followed correct procedure.
I'll bet that the racehorse , Politicallycorrect, will get a lot of attention next time it runs.
Andres, i've read about a half dozen reports on what took place and my conclusion is that were it nor for the quick reactions of Tyler Gaffalione (rider of War Of Will) the lead horse could have caused carnage. A disqualification was the proper punishment, imho. Just because this was the Kentucky (no typo there, folks) Derby doesn't mean leniency should be shown when falling foul of the guidelines

As someone whose posts are understandable, and reasonable, you already have the advantage over the President, so if you find it complicated, it's not a huge leap of assumption to reason that he will find it more so!
AH--Apologies for misunderstanding x
AH, Donald Trump is not so arguably the most powerful man in the world. What’s on your CV?
And of course there were lots of disgruntled punters. The disqualified horse was the 9/2 fav.
Naomi - // AH, Donald Trump is not so arguably the most powerful man in the world. What’s on your CV? //

As a music critic (remember I scratch a few pennies doing it!) - I have had similar accusations levelled at me many times.

The answer then is the answer now - I am not required to be more powerful than Donald Trump in order to have an opinion about him, and express it.

If everyone was required to be more knowledgeable and / or skilled that someone else in order for the second to give an opinion on the first, then this site would implode instantly.

Fortunately, that's not how the real world works - I can suggest, and indeed state that President Trump is an idiot, simply because I believe it to be true - that is all the credentials I need, thank you.
Ken--- Yes the race went to the right horse but the reports did say that the stewards made at least three mistakes in coming to this decision. It was this that led to the political correctness that D.Trump went on to post about.
