AH, just as well you’re not required ....
// What nonsense this thread is.//

I love it when Ni says that a series of comments including her own are nonsense

and I agree- if the most powerful man on earth want to spell Kentukey as Kentucky or poughkeepsie
then he should be allowed to
( without anyone gfabbing his gusset so to speak)
OK Naomi - on that same vein, I have had my opinions and expertise published in over a hundred publications across five continents over nearly forty years, what is actually on your CV?
Andy, you're not a musician though, are you?
Talbot - // Andy, you're not a musician though, are you? //

No I'm not, which entirely proves my point.

Kenneth Tynan, acknowledged as probably the finest theatre critic ever in the field, never stepped on a stage in his life.

As I pointed out, an ability to perform is not the same as an ability to judge, and often, performers make lousy writers, and vice versa!
Very, VERY needy.
douglas - // Very, VERY needy. //

Being cryptic doesn't really assist the discussion -

to whom is you post addressed, and what does it mean please?
“Critics are like eunuchs in a harem; they know how it's done, they've seen it done every day, but they're unable to do it themselves.”
Attributed by an old friend (RIP, Patrick) to Rilke of all people, but apparently it's by former Liverpool manager Brendan Behan.
By the way, may you, Mr Behan, rest in peace too.
vetuste - // “Critics are like eunuchs in a harem; they know how it's done, they've seen it done every day, but they're unable to do it themselves.” //

It's a valid point, but critics never claim to be able to do what they criticise, nor has it ever been seen as a pre-requisite of the task at hand.

It would be a poor critic indeed who could not take valid criticism of him or herself - I take it easily, and it doesn't bother me in the slightest - when it is genuine, and accurate.
AH, top of the list on your CV is not your hobby, but pen-pushing full time for 40 years at a utilities company which hardly qualifies you to criticise in such a vitriolic manner someone who has achieved so much more. That I believe is a valid, genuine, and accurate criticism so I trust you can, as you say, take it.
We had Bushisms, now we have Trumpisms.lol
Personally, I take my hat off to a chap to a chap who gets his views published despite all his obvious failings.
Bush has been trumped!

Don't forget your own crown prince, famous for foot in mouth moments ;-/
ozzy, is he not also your crown prince, or has Oz secretly gone Republican?
Damm, thanks for the reminder Danny ;-)

I do take it, and immediately dismiss it, as I am sure you would expect.

But I would request that we stop this sidetracking of the thread - much as I love talking about myself, I am not the subject of debate here, so let's return to the thread shall we?

Just one last thought though, if I am prevented from criticising President Trump because he has 'achieved so much more', can we look forward to the cessation of your daily criticism of the prophet Mohammed, if you are willing to practice what you preach?
Spicerack - // Personally, I take my hat off to a chap to a chap who gets his views published despite all his obvious failings. //

Thank you for your input, but as I have said to Naomi, my 'failings', perceived or otherwise, are not the thread subject, so shall we ditch this little sark-fest and get back to it?
I thought Spicerack was talking about Trump there, A-H.
