why not Prince Boris or Prince Shane, Troy or Liam?
That would be interesting
jno--Archie Andrews was on ITV in 1958. And I don't care if his lips moved or not.
I thought Spenser would be a good choice. Popular male name in Coca Cola Land so would be popular for her Royal Duchesness and also Diana Spenser.

I can imagine HRH the Duke of Edinburgh's reaction when he was told.
"Good Gawd. They've named him after a bloody dummy"
Never heard of Archie Andrews, but the name Archie is quite popular at the moment.
I read * somewhere * today, he will be known as Master Archie. Lol
Archie, no.
That is his title, as with most male babies.
I know pixie thanks for stating the obvious. Master Archie , I just found amusing .
You're welcome :-)
Why does his name being Archie mean he can’t have a title?

Brilliant name btw :-)
Is it your name, ich? :-). It doesn't, just not HRH.
//That name wasn't one the bookies list!//
Neither were Beatrice or Eugenie but somehow don't think the parents pay much attention to what the bookies say - or anyone on here for that matter. Welcome to the world Archie, lovely name.
He's their baby, they should be free to call him what they like- and they have done. Happy he's here safe x
There was an HRH called Duchess Meghan
Thought to be the progeny of Ronnie Reagan
The Sussex 'She' had a son called Archie
All part of the bleeding royal polyarchy
Truth be told, it happens to be all a bit too pagan.
My name isn’t Archie Pixie :-)
But at the link it says that “BY naming their son Archie whatsadiddle they have chosen not to give him a title.” So unless it’s just badly worded I don’t see how the name means he can’t be the Earl of wherever. Maybe it’s actually the surname that matters. This sort of thing is not really my field!
if the child is to be christened
doesnt there have to be a you know saints name somewhere?

or will the arch B of C or his minion Dean of Windsor just say - yes ma'am whatever ma'am commands ....
there is an order in council knocking about somewhere from 1962 that says any royle in need of a surname
should take Mountbatten Windsor

not many have tho
Hi PP
That makes me wonder if there’s a commoner somewhere called Archie Bishop of Canterbury ...
Presumably in Canterbury
PP//if the child is to be christened

No. My son was christened, and as far as I’m aware there are no saints that share either of his names.
