ich, once brexit is sorted, one way or another and the dust settles, politics will return to the normal Tory v Labour scenario. The goal has been left unattended for 3 years and Cob has barely scored. What's it going to be like when there is a keeper again? The Tories will have a new leader and unless Labour de radicalise they'll get hammered. They will come to see that and will dump COB in time to challenge the Tories in 2022. Another Kinnochio moment will be needed mind to expunge the hard left but they'll do that.

...I need a lie down!
“Once Brexit is sorted”

Lol - who was it said the devil is in the detail?
And what’s not “normal” about a party losing an election after as much as 12 years in office?
If you can’t see the huge issues affecting the Tory party even beyond Brexit then you perhaps arent looking properly.
Brexit was “unthinkable” and so was “Trump”
And just so is Corbyn.
Ha! Ta for BA.
You should be hoping politics doesn’t return to “normal” because I can’t see any way other than something abnormal which would lead to the Conservatives actually increasing their number of seats at an election,

ich, I am primarily explaining why there will not be an election in the near future as you so crave. I doubt we'll get a further extension from the EU, The HOQ may well let May's deal through as they are terrified of no deal. It's possible that A50 will be revoked, it's possible that there will be a second referendum, we may leave or we may stay but it will be resolved in time for at least a 2 year run to the next election. The Tories will have a new leader and if Labour are going to put up a fight in 2022 they'd better do likewise.

Yes I can see huge issues for the Tories, for one thins the scars from the brexit issue will last long but the Tories are nothing if not pragmatic when it comes to leaders and winning elections.

And all you had to do was agree with him.
I don’t “crave” an election (sigh) just saying that it is a lot more likely than you seem to think
Question Author
..and I have explained many times why it's extremely unlikely.
I can see why you'd call it unlikely, but all the same it seems even more unlikely that "normal" politics is going to somehow survive this essentially unscathed.
