I do wonder why some people seem to get very angry when anyone starts talking about the free benefits that a lot of people receive, normally cash benefits, for whatever reason, its almost as if one shouldn't dare to mention such.
If anyone should get a little upset, should this be people who don't receive any kind of benefit, in cash terms, just keep their head down, work, and make do with what they earn, and not have a view of how their taxes are used.
Reasonable discussion is one thing, but your previous post was neither reasonable not kind....and it didn't have a whole lot of objective fact to it either
Reasonable? I think its reasonable to ask why that someone who don't work, claims benefits, and owns a top of the range prestige BMW, when someone who does work, with no benefits, as to drive to work in a tatty old car that may not start in the morning.
I don't understand the getting angry thing, taking the micky is far more fun, but a lot of people just don't understand it and take it far too seriously.

I think we call it banter Balders.Certainly some don't understand it or understand why it is sometimes required. :-( I am sure you and Dave know where I'm coming from.
I mean nothing disrespectful to David Small, hopefully he knows that, we will deal with whatever comes up as and when, we will deal with whatever happens as and when it turns up.
You could always try minding your own business too Fruitcake, people can spend their money on whatever they like, whether they be Lords or benefit claimants ( or benefit claimants who are Lords- a few of those actually). Why be angry and jealous that someone's driving a BMW, it's just a car, it gets you from A to B, worry about important things.
The benefits system is a vast minefield and causes many misunderstandings, some respond to questions on this topic in a testy way and others shake their heads and move on - and every reaction in between.
It's almost impossible to have a system that is robust enough to deter fraudsters too.
