You really think I am going to watch a 59 minute TV programme, that you think backs up your nonsense about multiculturalism? I am not.
The facts are readily available. Somalia is one of the most dangerous countries in the world, and its capital Mogadishu is particularly dangerous.
London and the UK are relatively safe by comparison.
Anyone trying to claim Somalia is the safer option are deluded. Or spreading a racist agenda.

It is not me who you should be attacking for spreading blatant lies, it is the parents of these youths and the BBC who you should be having a go at.
But then I suppose you know better than the parents, perhaps as a black youth walking the streets in Somalia they are in fact safer than in London, why else would they risk their son's safety?
This is no Racist, Far-Right, Neo-Nazi, Fascist report, it's straight from the horse's mouth.
And before you attack me for being discourteous towards these parents, 'straight from the horse's mouth' is a well known saying.
One has to be so careful these days.

AOG,
I have.
I said the parents must be very stupid and I said they were deluded.
Anyone else who gives them publicity, be it the BBC, the Guardian or the Mail, are guilty of misrepresentation. The parents are wrong, and media outlets should say they are wrong. In fact it should be more critical than that. Sending children to a war zone where they have quadruple the chance of getting murdered, is clearly neglect. Instead of praising them (which is how the reports appear), we should be condemning them.

well now we have cleared that little matter up, perhaps we can get back to the BBC's programme and the media's reporting on it?
So I totally agree with you, only an idiot would assume that these African countries are safer to live in than the UK.
So can we now discuss why these parents think they are?

// Just to be clear. //
To clarify, I was accusing you of having a racist agenda, not the parents (but I am sure you knew that).
I have no idea what the parents motives are for sending their children to Somalia other than the mistaken belief that it is safer.
Of course it is a muslim country, so the parents may think that a big dollop of religious indoctrination might sort out their sons (but that is just speculation).

Although that wasn’t your question AOG to be fair.
You do seem to be claiming it yourself to start with.
London has an awful problem with knife crime just now and it’s sad that Somali parents feel that it would be safer back home for their children. Maybe indeed they would be safer from the specific threat. But potentially it’s just as misguided as not travelling to London’s theatre land because of fear of knife crime miles from there

I see you have now broadened the question to the whole African continent of 54 counties, not just the cesspit Somalia.
I will keep my answer to just the Somali parents.
They may be remembering and nostalgic for the time when they were young and happy (in their homeland). That idyl probably never existed, a bit like your crime-free idyl of 50 years ago. They are disheartened and want to turn back the clock to a time that never really existed. Except Somalia has moved on, and not for the better, two decades of civil war, religious extremism and tribal conflict.
Going off on a tangent slightly, you rightly condemn children going off to that other war zone full of religious muslim fanatics which is Syria, but seem OK with them going to Somalia.
