It's Sudan not South Sudan. Urgent question asked in the House of Commons this morning. https:// www. parliament. uk/ business/ news/ 2019/ june/ urgent- question- as- crisis- in- sudan- intensifies/

"In April of this year, the Sudanese army announced that it had removed President Omar al-Bashir from power following months of protests against him. He had been in power since 1989.
Many of the anti-Bashir protesters have continued to demonstrate against the new military government and talks between pro-democracy groups and the government have stalled. Last week, security forces opened fire on a group of protesters in the Sudanese capital of Khartoum."
"Following up on his question, Sir Henry Bellingham noted that the "situation has become quite horrendous"."

The situation is complex with various factions and we don't have a magic wand to put all right. I've see articles on it so it can't be that blacked out. https:/ /www.bb c.co.uk /newsro und/486 22867 https:/ /www.bb c.co.uk /news/w orld-af rica-48 511226
what is sudan
country below egypt
they booted us ( and the Egyptians who were co governing ) out in 1956. So why are we agonising about the blood letting in Sudan ?
I liked - there is a black out in Sudan - because the name is related to aswad/sudra , black in arabic.
terrible place - I wouldnt go there if I were you.
Khartum Museum - the museum of 5 civilisations - Kush, Meroe, Nubia and 2 others. I still wouldnt go there
Khartoum is basically the Cornishe ( bank fo the Nile ) and slums for a few million people
uugh

Apart from the Mad Mardi who doesn't like it up e'm I am sure, since the Brits were kicked out of that rich and prosperous land the people of Sudan have been left with a culture of great Education and Civility towards each other. If they wish to slaughter each other willy nilly I am sure they know what they are doing and do not need any help or outside help from countries less civilised than themselves. You, Spath, praised the virtues of the United Nations Governance on another recent thread whilst others think it is a toothless Tiger.
Rather than ask what is to be done from us. Give the UN a bell and ask what their 'Peace' keepers are doing. I know quite a few are soaking up the rays on the Green Line in Cyprus.
