The spin put on this - to make the best of a bad situation, is that Mark Field was 'concerned about security' which is why he behaved as he did.
The reality, and it's clear for everyone to see -is there in the video.
Mr Field was not 'concerned about security' at all, he was angry that some hostile totty was about to make a fuss, so he lost his temper, grabbed her by the neck, and frogmarched her out of the room.
The look on his face says it all, he is not fearful, or concerned, he is angry, and reacting accordingly.
Of course, they then have to hit the damage limitation reaction, which is to give everyone some guff about what a hero he was, what if she had ben carrying a knife / gun / nuclear device, whatever - and a number of posters on here seem keen to buy that s both the reason and the excuse for his behaviour.
The fact is this - as an MP, and a government minister, you don't go around laying your hands on a woman who is walking past you, and forcibly march her out of the room with a face like a smacked bottom, past dozens of cameras, that is never ever going to end well.
So if everyone wants to swallow the spin about this and 'What if ...' from now until the last trump, then feel free, but I repeat - the reality is there on film for everyone to see.
This is not a man concerned about security being a hero, it's a nasty brutish lout grabbing hold of a woman and using unnecessary force to remove her from a room which is neither his job, or anything approaching a reasonable reaction to the situation.
The PM obviously sees it from my point of view - she has not offered him a George Cross for his 'heroic actions', she has suspended him.
He will continue to play the victim, and bleat about 'safety and security' but his facial experession and his behaviour say different.
