That seems more like some of the young's excuse, rather than the elderly's.

Especially amongst those who carry out their day and night stabbings ie lack of youth facilities, no job, disadvantaged, etc, etc.

spath...yes, I agree that it does go both ways and us "oldies" don't disrespect all of the previous generation, but the evidence that us "old folks look at is AB as wee see it and life around us as we perceive it.
We see lack of "stiff upper lip, we see lack or respect by the present and previous generations and we fear that this is s deteriorating situation.
I don't intend to give examples as this would take too long, but it is of concern to us "oldies" and we show this via the medium of AB.

Sqad it is important, though... to remember that most older people don't get out that much. Their perceptions are based on a small circle that they see day to day, be that their local neighbourhood, the same media or AB... This can make their views seem hysterical, when they say there is this big issue, but i don't see that issue at all.

I have a diverse range of friends, black, Asian, men, women, older, younger. I think i'm very qualified to have an opinion on this (not that anyone has said i'm not)

The U.K. Cadet units never tried to hide the reason for being in existence Karl. Hitler Youth was set up to deliberately circumvent the military restrictions imposed on Germany after the carnage of the First World War. This latest skirt trailing by Macron, encouraged by Germany, is just more of the same covert movements to set up an armed and dangerous EUSSR force to impose their will on the faltering belief of the indigenous European peoples. Had there been a force in existence they would have taken "control" in Greece and probably Italy by now. Not Britain though...….we have our, for now, own armed forces capable of preventing such a scenario. There is a very good reason why the EUSSR is, for now, prevented from raising it's own military force. Not that one would expect a "trading group" to require one. But we know why they, and it seems you, would welcome such a force.

But it’s NOT the return of NS as is being discussed, in France or anywhere else. It’s a glorified scout camp for 4 weeks which hopes to instil a little sense of community and respect in young people. Which is a good idea.

Threads which end up concentrating the on young/old debate sadden me, mainly because of the number of people who only seem to have encountered young folk who are rude,lazy and disrespectful.

Petty. However, yes my mother is very proud actually having an open minded, bright young lad as her son who is accepting of many people, animals and helps out as much as he can.

Yes, but that is a world wide appreciation, not as you put it.."a small circle". Most of us oldies, get about, we can still read newspapers and we can still watch TV.............although we are oldies, we do have a feel for changing social attitudes.
