/// Edgbaston is traditionally a stronghold of India and Paksitan supporters at international tournaments, so much so that Morgan anticipates an atmosphere more like an away game. ///
Seems like these India and Pakistan fans don't consider themselves English.

/// You know very well that they are British. ///
No such country, they chose to live in the British Isles ie The United Kingdom, but if a citizen of Scotland they would be Scottish, or Northern Irish if a citizen Northern island, or Welsh if a citizen of Wales etc.
But if they wish to call themselves British, that's fine by me, just as long as it doesn't stop me from being proud to describe myself as a true Englishman, born and bred.

/// Since when has living in or being born in this country meant you cannot support a team or a person from another country? ///
After choosing to leave their own countries so as to take benefit of the amenities and standard of living of this country, just makes one wonder in a time of conflict against their mother country, who's side would they then support?

Strange logic AOG.
If someone from Islington happens to support Manchester City, are you saying that they are not really a Londoner?
There are many factors involved in choosing a spirts team to support. Sometimes your birthplace and your ethnicity might leave you with a choice.
Just because someone with Indian heritage likes to watch Indian sports stars, or watch Bollywood movies or eat spicey food does not bar them from being British. What influenced them as a child, there up bringing and the education from their parents will all play a part in selecting allegiance to a team.
