Who Agrees With Me.?
10 Answers
Purely my biassed opinion, one of the best Tenor's this century is Ronaldo Villazon. Our departed friend Mikey might agree with me .
Anyway, purely out of interest, Rolando is perfoming this year at llangollen.....https://rolandovillazon.com/a-busy-summer-begins-june-22/
Let's hope that we see and hear Rolando on TV.
Hans.

(You forgot to leave a space before it, so that a full stop got mixed up with it).
RV is outstanding but some might say that Juan Diego Flórez is better, I think.
Piotr Beczala is another contender for the title too:

I'm not an expert, but I'd go for the "Most interesting hair" tenor.
My favourite tenor of latter years is Domingo (hope Mikey agrees). Far superior (to this lay critic) than the reedy Carreras and the ostentatiously sweaty handkerchief Pavarotti, love him and "Nessun Dorma" as I do).
Oh, forgot to mention a voice I love although he doesn't do classical opera for a living. I refer to Andrea Bocelli, and can remember Pavarotti's reference to him when he first hit the scene. "A beautiful voice" was Pavarotti's description.
Insane video (who thought that up?), but lovely music and Bocelli singing not quite as well perhaps as he did when he was younger:

Chris, before hitting the hay I would respond to your posting as follows:-
Gretel and I have enjoyed your link to Piotr Beczala and can appreciate your saying that he is a contender for 'Best Tenor'. However, we are Not really impressed with Juan Diego Flórez, who does Not appear to have the passion we like to hear from operatic tenors.

Over 20 minutes from my last posting and I still haven't struggled up the stairs.
My final comment for tonight is prompted by vetuste_ennemi
Reference being made to Andrea Bocelli, who is an excellent singer but, because of blindness ,is unable to read music. It may therefore surprise folk to know that Pavarotti never learnt to read music.
