What is the root cause for this? Surely, Nicola's Government is not a reason to revert to funny substances......

After reading some of the posts on here it’s no wonder Andy Murray said anyone than England,some of the flippant remarks on such a serious subject tantamounts to racism,yes we have a serious drug problem,have you any problems in England?,immigrants,ghettos,knife crimes in London,yet no Scots on here making stupid jokes on this,those kind of remarks play right into Nicholas sturgeons hands when she bleats on about separation of the United Kingdom.

Devolving drug laws to Scottish Parliament would maybe help

From what I've seen and read over the years it's the mixing of drugs that are the main cause for concern.

Addict goes and gets their methadone, then has a normal hit of crack/heroin, maybe topped up with some street valium.

Spice hasn't been mentioned recently. Does Scotland have a problem with that?

It seems that Scotland want to decriminalise/facilitate drug use to an extent. I'd go along with it although it's above my pay-grade and none of my business you might say.
It does tie in with drinking in a way. When Scotland had very strict licencing laws it had a lot of alcohol problems.
Certainly isn't a Westminster funding problem...like everything else in Scotland.

A number of years ago a friend and I were asked to do a feature for one of the Sunday supplements (Telegraph) on the burgeoning "Whiskey trail". He wrote the article & I took the photos, (a bit like asking foxes to guard the chickens). Every distillery was very welcoming because it could lead to good (& free) large-scale publicity.

Cutting a long story short, we ended the tour at the head offices of Whyte & Mackay in Glasgow, where the head blender, a Mr. Patterson, opened specially a bottle from the 1920s saying, "when I open this, the aroma will fill the room".

I can still taste it :0)
