I've been in love with Greta's mum for years. Now it's out there ;o)
One of Sweden's best mezzos. Here she is with the best known tune from Handel's opera Rinaldo.
Take a moment to let this wash over you.................

It's washing over me now. Wonderful music and a beautiful lady. Thank you.
Absolutely beautiful Builder. She makes it sound effortless, magnificent tonal change. In another life that's what I'd want to be, an opera star, travelling all over the world and adored wherever I went. (I'm nearly there of course).
PS this should be in music;-)
Sorry, not my cup of tea. My Dad used to call rows like this as someone with their head stuck I door.

Thank you Nellie and Lady B.
There are so many interpretations of this piece. All the greats have tackled it.

Her intonation is wonderful. Mezzos have such a great depth of tone.

Yep, perhaps it should be in Music. It's just that I was inspired by Cassa's thread on Greta. :o)))

Sparkles ... you obviously haven't been brought up proper ;o)))
Ladybirder, I am now wondering how Greta's mum travels all over the world without leaving a carbon footprint!

Who is Greta?
Well, it’s NEWS to me. ;-)

Flygskam .......... som vi säger
Yes,good and slightly better than Sarah Brightmans' version, but I still prefer Sissel Kyrkjerbo's voice . The single piano accompany renders a more concentrated rendering but it's one to you The Builder, well done!

Delighted, Grandpa.

Joyce DiDonato (another of my great loves) sings a beautiful version with "Il Pomo d'Oro" (string quartet plus lute and harpsichord.)

But, I'm with you. I love the simplicity of just piano.
I somehow pictured The Builder listening to Radio 2 on a plaster and emulsion splattered old radio

Looks like I was wrong.
That is beautiful
Question Author
My pleasure, Theland.

Hoppers ... everything stops for "Popmaster", I'll admit that.
Actually, your description is pretty accurate... my site-radio is fairly splattered ;o)

As for Pop, my favourite decade is the 90s. Don't get me started on the great "Chemical Brothers", or I'll bore you to death ;o))
Beats looking up a kilt!

Theland .................. !!!!!

I've been doing my best to put that out of my mind ;o(((((((((
Not bad....but I’ll take Katherine Jenkins over her any day...that is if they want to fight over me, obviously!
Sorry mate. It makes me chuckle when I think of it - often :-))
Question Author
Chills ... I'm older than you. ;o)

You can keep your Katherine Jenkins. I prefer the more mature woman

;o)
