Should She Be Sacked?
Khafi Kareem ,a Met police officer asked for leave to go to Nigeria ( to take part in their version of Big Brither ) her request was turned down but she went anyway, whilst there she had sex with another housemate live on TV
My opinion, Yes she should be sacked,if you ask your employer for time off and you take it anyway , isn't that gross misconduct ?

Yes, I do, actually. My parents were *both* Police Officers and when you join you accept that being a Police Officer is pretty much a 24/7/365 occupation.

but was permission required? Does anybody know if there is a rule that says that police must ask permission before being on TV as themselves, not representing their police force?
Yes there is a rule. My father appeared on one episode of a TV programme presented by Johnny Morris. It was called Animal Magic.
His police dog was the feature.Permission was sought and granted by the Commissioner of the Met Police. He was given permission because the inclusion showed the police and the performance of a highly trained animal ,used by them ,in a positive role to the public at large

//She was a policewoman(introduced as such) being televised having sex.Spath would you be happy to see your daughter in such a position?//
Danny, I'm not sure whether you are objecting from a professional point of view (although she was not working or representing them)... or a controlling father point of view. Nobody wants to see their relatives in this position, that goes without saying. But she is an adult and surely can do what she likes in her free time, providing it is legal? X

If that is addressed to me please address it accordingly. For the Met,which happens to be the subject of this errant officer, the relevant code of conduct is enshrined in ,surprise, surprise, 'The Discipline Code'
and a large Tome called Police Orders. It is restricted to members of the Police Service and if borrowed by officers to study for promotion it must be surrendered on retirement. A smaller version called the IB or Instruction Book is a large but smaller equivalent to PO and every officer is issued with it with monthly amendment pages. Again not for public perusal
