/// Over-simplification makes puff pieces for newspapers, but it doesn't actually help in any way. ///
No good warning the kids about these groomers then, lets move on and try your cup of tea around the table approach, that should teach them. //
I believe you have missed my point.
My criticism is not the validity of the story, it is your sweeping generalisation that 'it's all down to … (insert your pet hate here - Muslims, blacks, black Muslims, etc.) -
because assuming any complex social situation is 'all down to ...' anything is unhelopful.

This advertising campaign warning of the dangers is aimed at school children, but AOG has totally missed the point.
Free food is just another inducement deployed by these criminals, who also buy the kids alcohol, drugs and cigarettes.
So it is not ‘all down to chicken shops’. Chicken shops is a new variation on an old technique.
There is an old saying that “There ain’t no such thing as a free lunch”. Meaning the person buying you lunch will want something back in return. This is just telling that old maxim to a younger generation who may not know the warning.

Exactly Gromit - we must warn the young about all manner of ways that their elders (usually) will try to take advantage.
Back in the 1980s in my town some lads got caught up in such a plot, one had an older brother who worked in an Off Licence at weekends and would hold open house in the back room . It grew from there.
Fortunately an alert parent got wind of it and informed the Police.

There were some young chaps (14) at the skate park who had been groomed by some older boys from liverpool. The older boys were over the age of 26 and had the kids selling everything from marijuana to MDMA pills.
The way they groom these boys is with the "oh yeah, ur one of us now" mentality. They give these boys play stations, alcohol, anything they may want to seem cool to their mates.
I have reported this to the local police force. They are more than aware.

// An east London primary school headteacher shared a YouTube video, amid fears the technique was being used at take-away restaurants in the area, including a local branch of McDonald's. //
Obviously not just McDonalds, but also Asian, West Indian or any other race that you don’t like, Chicken Shops (which is the dog whistle being blown by AOG).

Easy to see it is not you TCL, at least for us regulars so I wouldnt worry about it.
As g for the OP, I do wonder why people continually choose to attack AOG instead of the problem being presented. Is it really more important the language AOG uses than the problem he is highlighting? I think not, clearly others think differently.

I personally don't 'attack' AOG, but I will robustly defend myself if he has a go at me, which is entirely within the cut-and-thrust of the site in general, and the News Section in particular.
I do think that the way a view is expressed is important, since it is an excellent indicator of the poster's views and beliefs, and if they should be challenged, then so be it.
