Prepared and ready to kill for a cigarette. If life is that cheap to this savage then he should be made to forfeit his own . Hardly an asset to the community that we are given to expect. :-(

retrocop - // No feeble excuses by the hand wringing brigade. //

Despite this being a pretty standard reaction from a number of AB'ers, yourself included, I have yet to read any post from anyone ever on here actually excusing someone for murdering someone else.

// Stock answer when caught to face some pathetic justice. He is not well. That can be said for anybody who kills. //

I don't believe it is a stock answer, and I don't believe anyone on here has ever used it as such.

// Those who are innocent decent partners and fathers suffer and fools protect him. //

And just to complete the set - I don't believe anyone protects such killers, and so cannot be judged a fool for doing so.
The rope!

Thinks, "on second thoughts I won't take this knife out, there's been too many hangings this year."

Statistics, as well as basic common sense, suggests that someone who goes out carrying a knife like this, and clearly keen to use it, is unlikely to ponder the finer points of the legal redress implications in advance.

That requires the sort of intelligence and ability to think ahead that is sadly missing from the average knife-carrying psychopath's mindset.
Statistics, as well as basic common sense,,,,,, and logic

if it worked then there would have been no murders before abolition
there were ( murders )
so it doesnt work .....
Punishment pp punishment. A life for a life etc.
You kill, you die. No reforms, no second chances, clean the wasters, get rid of permanently. Irrelevant that it does not deter. It makes them pay the same price they charged, end them....

Amen to that.

I do not recall ,back in the late 50's several murders by knife every day of the week. We had capital punishment then. Today it is become so prolific it is not even newsworthy. You complain about same old ,same old Brexit posts on AB. Shall we shove our heads up our rectums and shout ,"boring boring ,we have heard it all yesterday and the day before ?"If you and your pals are to squeamish to pull the trap lever there are plenty of people who remember there was not such butchery on a daily basis and will do it. Otherwise what do you have to suggest as an alternative to deter and reduce these killings every day?

@ 2300,
Couldn't say it better than that!

Ditto. A most eloquently put sit rep I thought. :-)
However lengthy a sentence it is, it won't be long enough, and it won't be served in full anyway.

Boris Johnson has talked about sentencing reforms and more prison places. Let's hope that comes to pass so scum like this can stay where they belong.
I thought that people took pride at how advanced the UK was, especially when it comes to society and cultures standards. For one example, we're quite fair and evolved with out justice system. We don't do thinks such as stoning or public hanging.

People are calling for the death of this man over his actions?

That's rather warped is it not.. a sense of, being just as bad as him?
// That's rather warped is it not.. a sense of, being just as bad as him? //

No. You'd have to kill someone by stabbing them in the neck in an unprovoked attack to be just as bad as him.
A disregard for life is a disregard for life, regardless of the reasons why.
You either care about life, or you care about the lifes of those you wish to care about.. which isn't actually caring about life. It's caring about who's life is considered worth it and whose isn't.

I don't think you (we) can pick and choose like that. Which i assume is why the UK hasn't used the death penalty in a while.

Rubbish.
