Hard to tell from the link... the mother may or may not have had depression. Not sure what the father was up to. I know they no longer weigh babies routinely, but you would have thought someone would have noticed something before she was 19 months.

Wasn't this in Australia? I think that the welfare service may be a little different. Vegans can breast feed because no animals are harmed in the production of human milk.....if you hear the cries of the cows when their calves are taken from them it really is awful.

I can't get around what these people were thinking. Breast milk is the most natural thing on the planet. Its sole purpose is to nourish an infant. Why wouldn't they just bread feed?
