Can anyone give some illustrations of what benefits Brexit - with and without a deal - the average British citizen will hopefully notice and enjoy when it goes ahead?

Well Playbill I’ve been reliably informed by some pretty knowledgable ABers that we’ll still be able to buy decent lightbulbs (you, know the ones which burn up resources much quicker than the energy saving alternatives), weapons grade weed killer and proper paint stripper. I kid you not. These were all examples of the benefits when leave voters were...

//I believe Master Oliver actually said he would leave these shores if Mr Johnson became P.M.//

I haven't seen news of him, "Jools" and their brood packing their bags (and I'm sure we would if it happened). Since his ghastly restaurants have gone belly up there doesn't seem much point in him staying.
spath, //You also said there would be no hold ups on the calais //

No, I didn't.

//No.. you have no insight that any other regular public member does.//

Absolutely right. Unlike you who says “every day life will actually be harder or poorer quality”, it’s not a claim I’ve made.

//What's going on at the moment is uncertainty.//

Right again – so stop making ridiculous claims for which you have no evidence whatsoever.
No longer being told what to do or not to do by unelected, faceless foreign bureaucrats!
So called celebs have always opined about leaving these shores if so and so and so and so gets into power or something similar, to date none of them have left to my knowledge. All bluff and hot air, just making even bigger fools of themselves !!
The main benefit will be the end of the paralysis that has gone on ever since the referendum. Three years of stagnation.
Getting our fishing waters back will be enough for me ,at least we will be able to stop them Pulse fishing
"An hour and a quarter and no replies. I wonder why?"

@ 12.41 New Judge gave you yet another reply which im guessing has come as bad news again to you and the resident troll spathywahtever it is..
so thats roughly 4 hours and no reply..I wonder why?

I kid you not. These were all examples of the benefits when leave voters were pressed for practical examples.
Steady on, Zacs. Lots of your Remain friends were crying because they couldn't afford train/plane tickets when they heard 'free movement' was to be ended.
Not me.
I think you'll find it was the right to buy and sell such things that you were informed of. But there again, there is much more propaganda to be had from concentrating on the example items themselves and ignoring the real benefit of self rule you were informed of.
Go on then OG, remind me of the benefits of self rule?

Sorry for not keeping up with all the responses. I do have other things to do - like trying to earn a living.

New Judges orange price news is interesting. But I think the fall in the value of the pound also results in us paying more for ANY products from other countries. Yes, the lower pound will help exporters, but will this help shoppers?
//Yes, the lower pound will help exporters, but will this help shoppers?//

You cannot take any single aspect of the economy and suggest that the economy as a whole is struggling. The reduction in the Pound's exchange rate was overdue anyway. One thing to bear in mind is that had the UK adopted the euro the single currency would have been unlikely to have reacted in the same way to the referendum result. You may think that makes a sound case for adopting the euro. You should think again and whilst you're thinking have a look at the disastrous effect that the inability to control a nation's currency and interest rates has had on Greece, Spain, Portugal and Italy.
Needs no telling Zacs. Its benefits are not having others control you but being free to run your own nation, which is self-evident. Everyone knows that.

If you disagree why not go the whole hog and form a group to advocate slavery or something similar. Maybe run an S&M group or two.
I'm looking forward to the refreshing change that all the bad things that happen can be blamed on us not being in the EU, rather than the tediousness of the past years of blaming them all on us being in the EU.
We can all (hopefully) grow our own food in allotments and enjoy the Dunkirk spirit so far denied to our generation.
We won't have to worry about trying to learn to spell difficult Eastern European names anymore- within a generation everyone could be called Smith, Jones, Harris and Briggs again- good old easy to spell names like that.
English plumbers and their Sunday rates will once again reign supreme. Hoorah!
We can have natty proper British blue passports like in the good old days ( Made in France and Holland)
All of the long term sick will die from medicine shortages thus making Britain one of the most healthy countries in the world (eventually).
How many more did you want? :/
Better to be rid of the faceless bureaucrats and get them replaced with chinless toffs who hide their money elsewhere just in case they might have fuckedup with a couple of lies too many.

I also have a clearer idea of where I'll be sitting if I ever attend an Answerbank soiree.
Word of the day goes to Douglas ?
More waffle from OG, I see. Waffle ain’t fact my friend. Nail your colours to the mast and tell us what the glorious path to freedom from the EU will give us!
