Not nearly enough Islamophobia in the Tory party for my liking.
I have a friend who is quite short, at school and into adulthood he has always been called titch. He, however has a sense of humour and accepts all "insults" as compliments. As he often says" I'm quite tall for my height".
naomi is right, as a nation we have lost our sense of humour.
Question Author
Comparing Islamophobia to mocking someones height is futile. It doesn't stand and I won't accept it as any kind of similarity.

Are you being serious???
//Postbox's are public

Letterbox's are private on buildings, doors or boxes attached to private buildings.//

Does that mean that members of the public can't post things in my private letter box? How strange
Question Author
No.. it means a post box will receive letters for all members of the public.. your private letter box will only receive mail for you.

Did you really need that explaining?
The latest is not to say "You're a big girls blouse"
Ricky Tomlinson used it frequently in the Royale Family, Heaven help the snowflakes if they were around in the 60/70s with programmes like Love Thy Neighbour and Till Death us do Part, even 10 years ago with Benidorm and it's innuendos , they'd have to lie down in a darkened room
spath I don't care whether you accept it or not. I was giving one small example of what naomi is talking about but as so often, it has gone over your head.
Islamophobic that is ridiculous at least we haven't banned the burka in this country.

And what about what the Muslims think about our some of our females choose to dress, in fact some of them will attack them sexually, I can't recall any case where a western man has attacked a burka clad female.

I wouldn't dream of telling you how to live your life spath, I simply suggested that you had taken Naomi's post out of context and maybe a second look would help you understand it better.

"Antisemitism that is ridiculous at least we haven't banned synagogues in this country."

That's how you sound AOG.
Question Author
Baldric i was joking.
spath, we knew from the beginning you were joking.

Really that only goes to prove what a twisted way of reasoning you possess.

How can anyone compare a strange way of dressing to a religious building?
Question Author
How can one compare a strange religious building and process of prayer with a strange religious garment?

It's one and the same AOG.
//I can't recall any case where a western man has attacked a burka clad female.//

Maybe not sexually, but I bet there are a great many islamophobic attacks on burqa wearing woman by westerners.
I wouldn't say that criticising burkhas is an 'attack' on Muslim women. More a comment about oppression.
Anything can be used as comedy, the point is how seriously to assume it was meant.
Spath, so when you wrote this :

//So, we're in the age of the easily offended.

However, why do people think they have some kind of right to not be offended? And also, why do people assume, because they are offended, some kind of action must then follow? I say to you, if you're offended, especially if you're the only one.. Do try to just get over it.//

….are we to assume you didn’t mean it – or does it apply to all except burka-wearers?

Question Author
Aye some take jokes about their religion quite serious.

Not all burker wearers are oppressed. You are oppressing women by saying that.
Question Author
"….are we to assume you didn’t mean it – or does it apply to all except burka-wearers?
"

It applies to all except those facing racial abuse or mockery.

I think that doesn't need explaining..

Being the victim of a hate crime is different to just being offended.
What hate crime - and who was subjected to it?
