Some people just love to play with fire. Idiots.
why would anyone go to Iran, full stop!

Fair comment 3Ts but to go there and fly a drone ,beggars belief and theses people are 'supposed' to be the intelligent ones, she, being a lecturer at Cambridge university
Why not?
Drones are sadly ubiquitous these days it seems.
What a mistake to make. How foolish can you get?
All they wanted to do was have a Firkin Jolie time to themselves.

Their shiny faced entitlement jumps off the screen.
well personally I think you'd have to radio to visit any of these places.
ich, "why not" - you cannot judge these *** *** like civilised nations, they are full of nut jobs.

Their travels have taken them to India, New Zealand ,China etc ( surprised they weren't arrested there) and droned each country, but to do it in Iran has to be they are a sandwich short of a loaf
Naive.
I think you’ve answered your own question Bobbi: if you’re on a tour of Asia and done places like China etc you really aren’t going to think twice about it probably.
The regime is at fault here. I hope they get a more sympathetic hearing from the powers that be.
Iran is a country of historical significance, in terms of religion (Zoroastrianism), civilisation (Persepolis) and agriculture. I can understand why someone would want to visit there, but it was reckless to fly a drone.
I take it you mean "sandwich short of a picnic" Bobbiesox:-)
"Supposed to be the intelligent ones." Well, stupid is as stupid does." is another little saying that springs to mind. I'm with those on here who question why they would want to visit such a place.
maybe talking to the iranian embassy before you go and asking what the rules are....
Question Author
Ich, University lecturers at least, would know that doing what they're accused of in a country with a regime like Iran has,has to be stupid at best
Question Author
Ken) sandwich short of a loaf or a picnic here ;0)
I'm with TTT, why would anyone want to go THERE ??
Question Author
We can say that HereIam but the fact is ,they did and are now in an Iranian jail, such is their stupidity
I've just read a bit further in the link and it says their biggest motivation is to "hopefully inspire anyone wanting to travel........and also try to break the stigma around travelling to countries which get a bad wrap (sic) in the media," the pair wrote on line. Mission not quite accomplished, then:-//

deserve all they get then....whose to say the whole blogger thing is nothing but a cover story...oxbridge and spies goes back a long way...very fertile recruiting grounds....i do not for one minute believe they were dumb enough to go to iran and start flying a drone around and not expect trouble...
