Come to think of it TTT. There are a few million people whose relatives died in Europe. What has the French and Belgiums done for us? At least the F.I. has a union flag on their national flag.
It's taken 75 years to erect a memorial, to the British who stormed Normandy beaches,and paid for by the Brits.
I wouldn't be surprised if the French have leased us the land for the memorial site.

10cs: it's quite fascinating that as a "socialist" you use the "value of the Falklands" as a reason to not act, odd when no doubt "value" should be something you are not concerned with. You don't think anything of the people there obviously, those that rely on defence from the mother nation. You'd abandon them for a pound note. Fortunately I have met some of them and they are eternally grateful to the UK for the protection it offers, you'd do well to emulate that gratitude for even sad popinjays like you are given similar protection.
