They have had the whole of the summer holidays to protest, or is this just another exercise brought on by their left-wing teachers?

All seems reminiscent to the Nazi teachers in 1930's Germany.

If you monetise this, then your children will be next.

I fear it won't end well for that wee lass, her coterie will profit as usual though and the world will turn.

Hey Dougie, didn't The Manic Street Preachers sing that? How appropriate!!
// it would make almost no difference unless and until huge polluting countries like China change their ways. //

China is greening its energy supplies at a far greater pace than the UK. It is a big polluter, but also a big investor in renewables, which will pay dividends in the future.

// China is the undisputed renewable growth leader, accounting for over 40% of the total global clean energy mix by 2022. This is due to meeting various capacity targets and addressing concerns about the country’s air pollution.
China has also already surpassed its 2020 solar panel target, and the IEA says it expects the country to exceed its wind target in 2019. China is also the global market leader in hydropower, bioenergy for electricity and heat, and electric vehicles.
The real science is ignored.
We are not responsible for global warming and CO2 levels are falling not increasing.
That's total nonsense. Literally nobody can seriously believe that.

The top four hottest years on record are 2016, 2015, 2017, and 2018. 2019 is going to settle inside that pack somewhere.

I'm trying to understand why four years of weather statistics constitute a proof of a theory. And why somebody should be sneered at for contesting such an absurd proposition.

Thousands of years of data are required and we are in a panic because Sunscreen sales increased?
Because it's not just four years of statistics, is it, ve? But the fact that the latest few years have been particularly warm, alongside the general temperature rise over the last few hundred years, clearly matters.

But the bit I was really calling nonsense is the idea that CO2 levels are dropping. They are manifestly not. There is no dispute about this, even amongst sceptics.
Also, thousands of years of data are hardly required to assess a spike caused by *recent* human activity. They do provide an important context, of course. There is equally no dispute that global temperatures can fluctuate. But, as a matter of fact, studies have shown that temperatures when they do change naturally do not do nearly as dramatically.

All the available evidence points to the assertion that the recent global temperature changes are heavily influenced by human activity.
Jim - Listen to Dr Patrick Moore interviews and lecured on YouTube to get real scientific facts.
Hey, Jim. I'm quite interested in historical stuff like. Last Ice Age. The population of the UK by immigration from the South. Possibly the East.

Answer me this, mate. You're terribly worried about the world getting warmer.

Would I be correct in the inference that Jim would prefer the world to get colder?

And, if so, the benefits of such cooling.
Nobody goes to YouTube for "real scientific facts". It says a lot about you that you think that's the level of research needed here, although I can't say I'm surprised as it's your usual level of rigour.

ve: no, you would not be right to assume that.

Oh, and the number of provably false claims Patrick Moore has made on Climate Change is fairly impressive.

You're just plain wrong, Theland. There's no other way of putting it.
So if you don't want the world to get colder, Jim, but are desperately worried that it's getting warmer then I assume that there's an ideal temperature at which the planet functions best, above and below which it make's it difficult to survive.

Is this a Jim theory? Or a scientific consensus? And if so what is that magic number?
gromit: "And a smart phone uses far less energy than a TV." - nowt to do with the energy they use, it's the high polluting industry that makes them that's the problem gromit. Same with electric cars etc, they are clean to use not to make.
//and to think that waiting until somebody else does something is ever going to be successful. Everyone is waiting for everybody else.//

As one lemming said to thousands........let's go.
I’ve just been looking at new cars. Looked at the Hyundai Kona Hybrid. 58mpg (so likely to be around 50 in reality). Where’s the incentive? The all electric one is nearly £40k!!!
gromit: "China is greening its energy supplies at a far greater pace than the UK. " - by building 200 coal fired power stations? Right oh!
ve at 00:13 Sat, excellent question.
I read yesterday that one child said "This is far more important than a maths lesson". Obviously not important enough to interfere with school holidays.
