British Muslims are launching their first ever pride festival at a time when the community is ‘under attack more than ever’.

Yes not so long back a Jamaican with partner and kids in the UK miraculously became gay overnight and stated he would be killed if he was deported back to Jamaica because they don’t tolerate homosexuals. The stupid old duffers in their robes and wigs swallowed that bilge. Nothing changes.
if you google the homophobic hate in the west indies you learn what i refer to
your text is really irrelevant retocop
LGBT rights in Jamaica are almost non-existent, you're right Derek., the moves to change that are very slow.

The OP regards British Muslims and that makes the difference in them feeling safer to have a Pride Festival as they reside here - hopefully we are a more understanding society.
"hopefully we are a more understanding society."

add gullible to that statement....

and as a result look at the rubbish thats brought to our shores over the decades....
I should have added, in the main Britain is a far more tolerant society but there is still a lot of entrenched dislike of homosexuality etc amongst some though the hatred is more muted generally than elsewhere.
Let them get on with it...everyone seems to have a whinge and moan these days, just a bit of a yawn to me so I leave them to it.
A Festival to celebrate and raise awareness, let's hope as others have said that it's allowed to proceed peacefully.
I love a parade :-)
Don't get me wrong I do have respect for folk standing up for themselves and their beliefs, however seems to me its week after week so I've stopped noticing whether they're cheering, moaning... to me .... big yawn...

I believe my text is relevant. I am aware of the real homophobia in Jamaica. My text highlighted that. It was the judiciary with whom I was referring as gullible when they allowed themselves to believe the accused suddenly was gay and used it as a defence which these judicial muppets accepted.
I also know and have seen photographic evidence of Muslims giving impromptu flying lessons to their brothers by tossing them off the roofs of high buildings because they are homosexual.
We, in the UK, are seen as a tolerant society yet those who flock here are more intolerant than we are who accept them.
