Sentenced to 6 months, his parents on tv are saying how proud they are of him for ...
‘Doing his own thing’
Inasmuch as I think the punishment was pretty harsh considering some they hand out, hopefully it’ll deter others for doing such a stupid thing

He deserves it this is pure attention-seeking & the climbing quite mechanical & not very risky. If he really wants to test his skill there are plenty of rock walls he can climb without hindrance.

I think six weeks is ridiculous, especially when you only get a few weeks or a suspended sentence for abusing and torturing animals, far, far worse in my opinion. I suppose his parents would say that, wouldn't they ??

He got 6 moths HereIam and I agree with davebro, his parents appeared very upperclass saying they brought him up to be independent and always to do his own thing, but at 18 ( or any age for that matter) they should be saying he was very foolish for climbing it,not endorsing him doing it
So called ‘class’ has nothing to do with it. He was an idiot and is being punished.
6 months in prison is ludicrous when you look at other sentences being dished out.
Yes his actions were rash and what he did was illegal - but 6 months in prison?? Did he put anyone's life at risk, apart from his own and maybe the really small chance he'd fall and land on someone (it was 5 am)??
His parents commented on someone who recently took a car whilst high on drugs/alcohol and killed 2 people in the process. Their sentence - a fine of a few hundred quid ..... can't remember the exact details.

Justice?? I think not !!!!
I doubt he'll serve the 6 months anyway.

Bet his parents are glad he didn't go splat and kill someone on a rapid descent at the same time.
His crime was not the climb per se but the wilful breaking of a court injunction - the judiciary don't like being ignored.

£105 was mentioned Giz, I feel he was handed a six month sentence as a deterrent or as an example, still feel that the parents should have not used the “ We’re very proud of him” though
Sorry, I meant six months !
He was convicted of contempt of court by breaking an injunction. His punishment is appropriate.
Punishments meted out for various misdemeanours/crimes certainly seem wonky.
Wonder how "proud" they would have been of him "doing his own thing" if he had fallen and killed anybody he may well have landed on.

complete and utter brainless moron...
perhaps now the courts will start handing out custodial sentences for knife crimes
No different to TR then. The judiciary dont like it when people ignore them.
the punishment doesn't fit the crime, i know what he did was stupid but 6 months that is absurd. A community sentence should be the order of the day.
As part of his community service he should of been told to do it again with a bucket and sponge. Those windows look a bit sooty.
Purely out of interest .. how would a member of the public be aware that there is an injunction in place in relation to climbing a specific structure ?
Will there be a notice attached to a lampost close by or is there some other way of doing it.
6 months, out in 2 ?
No worries... I have found out that he had an injunction served 'on him' last year. It related to a previous offence ... silly billy. Wonder if he will have another go ?
that sentence will totally go against him whether he is out in 2 or does the longer term. Silly bloke...
