IMO continually elect a party uninterested in the fortune of the whole nation but only in the local area and one will effectively transform party & area into a backwater that can't agree with national parties. It's all very well hoping to hold the balance of power in order to get an unfair share of benefits, but the most common likely outcome is to get sidelined....
TBH I'm not on the ground up there but it seems to me that a lot of Scots are getting annoyed by her 2 issue only politics. 1) hate the English. 2) attain dependence on someone other than the English. Maybe you are correct TCL let's see.
Not if the polls are to be believed. The SNP are riding high and the Tories look set to lose most of their seats.
Not much wonder Johnson is courting “Workington Man”
Personally I think he should be after Piltdown man ..

Mind you, if the SNP cause that it'd be something else to pretend supports their attitude and ideology.
Is there a truly “National” party any more?
Has the electoral success of the SNP turned Scotland into a “backwater”
Anything but I’d suggest.
The fear north of the border is that that is what Brexit will do.
When the Tory’s lose seats this election it won’t be on their policies it will be because they have ballsed up Brexit and got nothing done for three years.
So it won’t necessarily be because the Scots want independence from the UK but are simply fed up with the Tory’s.
And that is no reason for Sturgeon to get excited...... but she will.
Pretty much on it's way ich. Sturgeon just needs to spout more nonsense and it's rightly ignored (save by the media) or mocked. The Scots deserve a better, more respected voice. Well, everyone does.
//Here we go again, she hates the English. Even if you repeat it often enough ttt, doesn’t make it true .//
You’d seriously have to forgive anyone who gets the impression she hates the English. She comes across to me as an obsessive doing a freaky impersonation of William Wallace in drag – and that’s no slight on William Wallace who, unlike Nicola, had, in my opinion, a cause worth fighting.
Nicola isn’t putting her country first. She’s putting Nicola first – seeking a place in history as the ‘saviour’ of the Scots. Given the opportunity her irrational ego will be Scotland's downfall.
TTT I’m talking specifically Scotland. They don’t have much representation by party really. SNP, Tory, Labour. Any others are also ranks north of the boarder and if you are disgusted with your preferred party’s antics over Brexit what is left?
