You are being a bit unfair to Farage.
He hates the EU and he especially hates EU Commissioners.
You want him to do the worst job in the world. He would be very unhappy.

I think he'd love the job - more power to wreak havoc over there. It's actually not a bad idea when you get past the 'Ha Ha' reaction. We have to send someone and the EU are asking for it.... I'm remembering the scene where Sir Humphrey and the Cabinet Secretary (I think it was) dismissed the other candidates and came round to the 'unthinkable' Jim Hacker for P.M. :)

Being an MEP suits him much better. He can say and do what he wants, and is mot impeded by anyone else.
Being a Commissioner is being a team player (which Farage isn’t), and having to work with others, not against them.
He would also have to do some work and actually produce something for MEPs to vote for or against. That might interrupt his main employment of being a media star.
