I am not sure either way it matters.
Back in 1971 a young lad got wiped up by a car whilst attempting to cross the Marylebone flyover in the Harrow Road. He had no identity and we put a description out of the deceased in the Paddington Mercury. I had to go down the morgue and take his fingerprints. Not easy as the finger joints have to be broken due to rigor mortis. I noticed a large recent scar down the abdomen of the cadaver and asked ,Mr Jackson the Pathologist's assistant what that was about.
He replied with a nod, nod, wink, wink, that someone was in need of a new heart. About two weeks later the Greek parents of the young lad reported their son missing and then identified the hollow remains of their son.
