Corbyn ‘Live’ At Loughborough On Sky News
Regaling the power of the Unions, what he'll do to companies like Amazon ?
All sounds very plausible but doesn’t he realise Maggie smashed the unions? They have no power anymore

Now the idiots are saying 16 year olds are mature enough to get a vote. When it suits the politicians of course!

//Emmie I think workers awe worried about striking now , they worry about their futures...//
This lot cannot be that worried:
They plan to strike for 27 days in December. That's virtually all of the month except Thursday 12th (when, if I were the management, I'd tell them to stay out) and Christmas Day and Boxing Day (when few services run anyway).
Yes, it's quite true that train drivers earn in excess of £50k but:
//Considering the numbers of people who entrust their lives to them every time they get on a train, I'd say they were underpaid!//
That's not a good measure. To crash a train you have to be incredibly inept or incredibly unlucky. Yes, there's lots of things you need to know (as there are in many jobs) and each individual route has to be thoroughly learned. But their skills do not warrant the same pay as, say, a senior operating theatre sister.

that's guards at south western railway. a parallel action is currently being enacted every Saturday until the year end at west midlands trains. the reason for the dispute is the same, as it's been with other train companies, the attempt by management to introduce driver only operation. at west midlands trains, the effect has been practically no trains operating into Euston (although the company claimed an ability to run a reduced service), because non striking train staff are this time around refusing to cross picket lines. if SWR depots are picketed this time round, there would be virtually no service in much of surrey, Hampshire and points south-west.
