Or face murder charges.

That's what Ohio lawmakers are proposing.
What planet are they on...have they no concept of physiology and what is or is not possible? I'm baffled as to how this has even gotten into this anti abortion bill.

It's almost beyond belief that they cannot see this is impossible.

Almost.
Lawmakers having no idea of the consequences of what they inflict seems to be the norm these days. Maybe it always was.
Absolutely bonkers.
I'm sure it will get kicked into touch where it belongs.

Unfortunaley in the USA there are a fair few States where religion tops everything rather than science.

I know that too well, ymf.
Thank goodness I don't come from one of them.
Unbelievable! Dangerous people, in my opinion.
No big deal.
Any smart ObG man will get round it by saying that he couldn't find the foetus, or the foetus was sucked into the sucker to be lost in the blood bottle.
This will be an unenforceable law.
This has to be fake news.
It is complete lunacy, but, as sqad says, a lawyer should be able to get over it. A friend of mine was rushed into surgery with an ectopic pregnancy - incredibly dangerous things and the foetus would die anyway.
wouldnt it be lovely if it really could be done?
the text of the bill is here
https://www.legislature.ohio.gov/legislation/legislation-summary?id=GA133-HB-413

to save you reading through 723 pages of close-spaced text, the relevant section (2504.3(C) is here - not easily searchable because the legislators mis-spelt "ectopic"....

(C) Takes all possible steps to preserve the life of the
unborn child, while preserving the life of the woman. Such step s
include, if applicable, attempting to reimplant an ectopic
pregnancy into the woman's uterus .

I believe that last that last statement was highlighted in my link.
Bednobs, yes. But at the moment it can't so all this bill can do is cause problems for medical staff.

Yes, legally they could probably get off but would you want that continually if you were a sergeon? I would say it's likely surgeons will move away if this gets anywhere near law and that then presents an even bigger problem.

Too often law makers just dont consider all the consequences of their action.
