....do you think Scotland would now vote for different dependence? Looking at these results I'd say they'd still vote to stay in the UK....

Should the government let them have another vote and put this all to bed?

I don't think another vote would be a bad thing. Some people assume a vote will go their way without bothering to vote themselves. You learn the hard way.
no to another vote, the Tories won't do it, nor should they, sorry if that upsets some Scots on AB...
Boris has said absolutely no vote - good for him ...
I wouldn't object to another Scottish referendum - but if the result was the same as the last one, would the aspiring present day William Wallace finally accept it?
No to a vote. I don’t think the majority necessarily want independence just because they voted SNP.
That awful woman is a meglomaniac with delusions of grandeur. She will lead Scotland to poverty imo.

Neither do I. I suspect more voted SNP because they don't like the Conservatives - and, like most of us, they saw through Labour's disastrous proposals.
No, because if they vote to stay she'll want another and another vote until she gets what she wants, Scotland is irrelevant to her.
I always thought "No" but now I'm beginning to think "Yes", with conditions. Since the last referendum we have decided to leave the EU, which the Scots voted against. I think a new agreement (say) 2 years after we actually leave the EU, with a legal condition that, whatever the result, no further referendum can be held for at least 25 years. The delay will allow the Scots to see what effect leaving the EU has had on their country and the legally binding 25 year interval before another can be held will give us peace and quiet from the SNP.
Just thinking would there be a referendum called SEXIT.
didnt she say the other day, she would have another vote without johnsons approval, would it be legal.

no it would not fender and perhaps it's worth looking at the Catalans who held an illegal referendum.
I think they would vote to stay but whichever way it goes it would be better for rUK to have the vote and settle the matter "for a generation".
Boris should allow it - no need to campaign, it's all been said, just let them decide.
Question Author
if they voted to leave then surely that would be 1 all so they'd have to have a decider!
While, I am not particularly bothered about their decision, I don't think it is right to hold another referendum so soon. There should be a minimum amount of time in between, imo. And she should get the whole of the UK to vote, if she really does want to get her wish.
I thought the las vote was 'once in a lifetime' - did they forget to add 'Unless we don't get the result we want ...' on the end of that?

I wonder how Ms Sturgeon imagines that Scotland can survive as an independent economy, given that the EU will probably not accept it as a member, and I cannot see that it can be self-sustaining with what it has in terms of an economy.

Am I missing something?
Who bailed them out when RBS went to the wall?
By rights Scotland's economy would of collapsed by now.
TGTT, Why have you had a complete post Oblitrated Today ??.
No, the same reasons for staying before still apply.

No, the principle of not giving sore losers a further attempt to get their way based on any excuse, must be upheld. It is untenable to go around trying to redo polls one has lost simply because one is not mature enough to understand one can not always get one's own way. And it's shameful to try, and the sort of EU tactic we're getting away from; because our people are better than that.
I should say "No" for the same reason as I do not believe that a second referendum on the UK's EU membership should be held. The same question should not be repeatedly asked of the electorate just because the "wrong" answer was returned.

But actually I don't really care that much what Scotland does. There is nothing in the Union for England other than shipping vast quantities of five pound notes up the M6 each night. Anything that gets Ms Sturgeon off the news can only be good. The trouble is if, as I suspect, a Remain vote is returned again she will just keep on and on for another and another and another vote.
The SNP were told 4 or 5 years ago, No
once in a life-time yakkity yak.....

I wish they'd give it a rest and sort out our miserable NHS and Education - devolved power - which the SNP have had control over and have let slide into the gutter.
