"no complaint has been made to police"
So why are they poking their nose in, at taxpayers' expense we might add.
Assuming there's no further activity we've not been informed of, then clearly there's no hate in stating that it's ok to be white. Those making a fuss and claiming otherwise ought to contemplate their attitude.
Meanwhile one wonders what caused the feeling of need to tell folk it's ok. Does it not seem that way anymore ?
I don't think most people do, khandro. I'm sure you have noticed yourself, that some groups of people, have had to deal with far more discrimination than others.
I am white myself, but if it ever genuinely gets to the point, that we really need to stand up for ourselves, I am sure, even I, might notice.
I've just checked with Police Scotland, managed to find a gainfully employed operative, he said yes but don't shout about it or everybody will start self identifying and it'll just get confusing.
Funny old World. Plod ignored Jasmin Alibhai-Brown when she said that she hoped that all white men were extinct in a hundred years time but are chasing poor Bill Stickers for saying that it's indeed OK to be white.(for now) Thing is they don't even know whether Bill Stickers is white or not. Will it be a hate crime if he/she is not white? Or a love crime? Haha
OG //there's no hate in stating that it's ok to be white.//
That depends on the reason for posting it. It originated in the White Supremacy Movement in the US.
It's therefore no surprise that there is a feeling in some quarters that being covered in white skin is some sort of criminal offence. That said, I can't help feeling that if an organisation was labelled by its CEO as "hideously black" or if I suggested that my local Caribbean restaurant was somehow deficient because it only employed black people, eyebrows may be raised.
Fgs. It is fine to be however you are. It is no longer fine to discriminate against people due to their colour or sex. Does anyone really think that is unfair? (And maybe look at the statistics before you try to claim it is now a crime to be middle-aged, white, heterosexual or male).
Are we really so self-entitled that we only notice when "other people" "appear" to get a chance?
"It's OK to be white" is either hate speech or combative or better still designed to "create a fuss". Whereas "Black lives matter" is a pithy statement of massive social importance and to be ingested and digested by all the intellectually challenged white deniers. Meehh. More Orwellian social manipulating and calculated projecting.
Maybe we should identify ourselves by the colour chart shade we actually are. I have never met a truly white person or for that matter a black one....
A lesson learned from a little girl on a bus, pointing at mummy she said pink, to daddy black ( he was very very dark) then to herself with a big grin. Brown!
