bhg481 I'm sure he's not the only one to leave hospital looking a bit untidy.Once he gets home and into his own bathroom for a shower and a shave, he will look and feel much better. I'm really pleased he has been able to leave hospital so he can spend Christmas with his family. Good luck to him.
He does remarkably well for a 98 years old. Considering over the last few years he has had heart surgery, bladder problems, abdominal operation and a hip replacement . Hope he has some respite now and enjoys Christmas with his family.
teacake //If he feels better, what does he care what he looks like at the moment.//
That's exactly the point I was making; mere mortals like me don't overly care what we look like when we're under the weather but have you ever seen Prince Philip looking anything other than immaculate? It speaks volumes for his state of health, even though he has escaped from hospital. I find it worrying.
I'm sure Her Maj will has seen him dishevelled on certain occasions, but it would be unsettling surely for her to see he went out in public not looking at his best.
He won't be going to church tomorrow.
bhg, I hear what you say, but at his age, or anyone else health issues will always be worrying. There's many at his age that wouldn't be able to even walk out of hospital. Did you expect him to emerge in lycra tights and trainers, and jump on his mountain bike. :0)
Good news that he will be at home for Christmas, he will still be getting best available care from royal doctors. I quite like him with his ability to say the wrong thing at the wrong time.
